Filet mignon marinade?!

Question: I tried searching for a recipe for a good marinade for a filet mignon wrapped in bacon, and all I can find are these goofy complex recipes... I just want some simple way to season them so they taste delicious... Any ideas? Thanks!

You should never have to marinate a choice piece of tenderloin. Especially Fillet Mignon. It is the most tender part of the cow. What you can do to flavor your beef is make a light sauce to compliment it. A nice bleu cheese allamande would go very well with the bacon. Cook your steak to temp and finish it in the sauce in the oven at 300 F.
A dry rub of fresh cracked pepper, salt and other herbs can be applied before grilling.

There is absolutely no reason to marinate a good piece of meat like that. Maybe a little kosher salt and black pepper. It is pointless to spend a lot of money on a nice piece of meat if you are going to mask it's flavor with a marinade.

Marinated Filet Mignon

1/2 cup olive oil
3/4 tsp. lemon pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 tsp. seasoning salt
3/4 tsp. dried oregano
6 beef tenderloin steaks

Combine olive oil, lemon pepper, garlic powder, seasoning salt and oregano in large, shallow container. Add steaks. Cover and marinate 3 hours in refrigerator, turning occasionally.

Grill over hot coals 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until done.

Do you mean marinade or sauce? Filet mignon is not a cut of beef that is marinated. But you can sear the cut in a skillet or saute pan, deglaze the pan with some water or beef stock (or even red wine, stout or whiskey!), and then reduce the resulting sauce. If you are have not used these techniques before, you can look up how to sear, deglaze and reduce sauces on the web.

Salt and pepper. Maybe rub with a little garlic if you just have to have more seasoning. I think the bacon will be quite adequate.

When I lay out a lot of money for really good beef, I want to taste it.
