Unique Valentine's Day Cookies?!
Answers: I'm hoping to find a cookie recipe that Kindergarteners will like besides the typical heart shaped sugar cut-outs. Here's the hard part...my daughter doesn't like chocolate or peanut butter. Any ideas?
CORELLIAN COCONUT OATMEAL COOKIES DIPPED IN CHOCOLATE - Wedge
1 cup Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
? tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
? cup Butter – softened
1 2/3 cup Sugar
2 Eggs – large or bigger (I prefer to use Jumbo)
1 ? tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
2 ? cup Quick Oats
1 cup Flaked Coconut
16 oz Milk Chocolate - Melted (I prefer Droste a Milk Chocolate candy bar from Holland)
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in flour mixture, vanilla and oats. Add coconut. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until lightly browned at the edges. Cool on a wire rack. One cool dip half of each cookie in the melted chocolate and let harden. Makes about 60 cookies. Cookies will spread when baking.
snickerdoodles, kids seem to like those a lot and you can die them red or use valentine colored sugar in place of the white sugar when you mix it with the cinnamon for the topping. Hope that this helps.
Try pressing small hard candies into the shape of a heart into sugar cookies - look up directions for "Stained-glass cookies".
Make sugar cookies pink (with food coloring) and use white icing to decorate.
Ditch cookies and make heart shaped rice crispie treats.
(Food color works with those too)
Have a good time and good luck!
Make the simple cookie dough maybe oats or rasins, whatever you daughter like. Get a piping bag and pipe out some different shapes or pipe out ther name in cursive so they stay togather. Put some food coloring so they some out red. Or even make a marble with different colours.
Hope this helps, good luck
Try gingerbread people, and decorate with red, pink, white and candies that match.
what about taking oatmeal cookie mix and pressing it in valentine cookie cutters.
