Question: RAG CAKE
3 breakfastcupfuls of sugar
1breakfastcupful of sour cream or milk
1 teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda
2 breakfastcupfuls of flour
1 teaspoonful of cream of tartar
1 breakfastful of unsalted butter
4 eggs
Beatup the yolks andwhites of the eggs seperately
Cream butter and sugar add to egg yolks and beat well together add cream of tartar to flour and bicarbonate of soda to cream or milk, mix these in with the eggs and sugar putting the whites of the eggs in last
Pour into a greased paper lined tin in a moderate oven
you can ice this cake, my gran did, using a rosewater flavoured icing with culled strawberrries cut in half layed randomly on top of icing not quite set, or you can leave it plain, serve with ice cream.

I always wanted to try using rosewater.I never could find it here in the USA.
