Can you make meatballs with cheese in them?!

Question: I'm making my meatballs and I was wondering if I can add cheese.

1.Would they taste good?
2.Have you ever had them?

Thanks :D

I think it would be fine as long as its not too much (too much might make it lose its shape when cooking) Parmessan sounds good, especially if its an italian meatball.

YES! for sure!!
i love the extra flavor it adds! i add fresh grated Parmesan all of the time to mine!

1 lb. spaghetti
Salt, for pasta water
=== MEATBALLS ===
1 ? lbs. ground sirloin
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, beaten
? cup Italian bread crumbs
? cup grated Parmesan cheese
= (or Parmigiano-Reggiano or Romano)
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Salt, to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
=== SAUCE ===
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
? teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
4 cloves garlic, crushed or chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup beef stock
1 can crushed tomatoes - (28 oz)
A handful chopped flat-leaf parsley
10 fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
Grated cheese, for passing at table
= (such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Romano)
Crusty bread or garlic bread, for passing at
the table
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place a large pot of water on to boil for spaghetti. When it boils, add salt and pasta and cook to al dente.

Mix beef and Worcestershire, egg, bread crumbs, cheese, garlic, salt and pepper. Roll meat into 1 1/2-inch medium-sized meatballs and place on nonstick cookie sheet or a cookie sheet greased with extra-virgin olive oil. Bake balls 10 to 12 minutes, until no longer pink.

Heat a deep skillet or medium pot over moderate heat. Add oil, crushed pepper, garlic and finely chopped onion. Saute 5 to 7 minutes, until onion bits are soft. Add beef stock, crushed tomatoes, and herbs. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes.

Toss hot, drained pasta with a few ladles of the sauce and grated cheese. Turn meatballs in remaining sauce. Place pasta on dinner plates and top with meatballs and sauce and extra grated cheese. Serve with bread or garlic bread (and some good chianti!)

This recipe yields 4 servings.

why not ? i put everything else in 'em , i make biscuits w/ cheese in 'em

2 eggs
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
Mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes, approximately 1/2 inch sq.

Combine eggs, water and salt. Add meat and bread crumbs. Shape into small meatballs, enclosing a cube of cheese inside. Arrange in single layer on shallow pan. Bake at 450 degrees for about 10 minutes. Can be served with spaghetti or eaten as an appetizer dipped in spaghetti sauce

to a pound of meat add about 8 oz grated cheddar....and what ever seasonings you like...
make sure your meat is fairly lean (chuck) or it will encourage the cheese to run....

Yes and it makes them taste really good.
I add romano cheese to mine and it is yummy!

Yea sounds like it would be good I have never tried that though. But I have tried cheese in my hamburger like swiss then just make like a patty until all of the cheese is covered & inside the meat. I'll have to try putting cheese inside meatball sometime.
