Is it safe to leave a crock pot cooking all day while I am away from home?!

Question: I've never used my crock pot before so I don't know if this is a stupid question or not. I've asked a couple of questions already and in some of the responses some of the answers say to let the food in the crock pot cook all day while gone at work. Is it safe to leave the crockpot on unattended while I am away from the house? And if so, where is a good place that I should place the crock pot while it is on and cooking for safety? Any help is appreciated. Thank You.

Yes. Its safe. Just keep it on the counter. The worst that could happen is it could boil over. At a low temp it won't do that. Don't worry about it. I do it all the time.

Yeah, it's safe. Just place it where it has plenty of room and nothing is in direct contact. I'd also recommend cooking on low when doing that.

Yes it is. The purpose is to be able to slow cook meat and vegetable. So the Crock-Pot is a perfect gadget to do the cooking while your working away!

Good luck, hope this helps, and hope your food turns out great.

Just make sure there is enough liquid in it, No that it would be dangerous if you didnt, your food may burn!

In my family we do it all the time, and have never had any problems with it. We always just through it on our counter top or stove top.

yup its totally safe. be sure that there is enough liquid in the bottom before you leave that it wont dry out. that could cause problems but ya as long as theres enough liquid you should be fine. i leave mine simply on the counter and ive never had a problem or heard of anyone who has. good luck!

Sure, thats the beauty of them.

Yes. I like to put mine on the stove top in the middle of the elements. That is the safest place. It is not a dangerous appliance.

Do not worry. That's what it was designed to do. Millions of housewives around the world leave their crockpots on all night or all day.

Yep perfectly fine my mom does it all the time when we go to church & it'll be ready by the time we get back home. We usually sit it on your countertop by itself not close to anything. Just make sure no one comes in your place & mess with it or anything LOL
