A good dip recipe?!

Question: I'm going to a dip party, everyone brings a dip and shares! I don't know a lot of ppl there and I'd really like to bring something extra special. I'm willing to spend some extra time on it too. Can you share a good recipe?

SPICY BACON BEAN DIP

4 slices bacon, crisply cooked
1 can refried beans with jalapenos
pinch of cayenne pepper (or to taste)
1 lb. Pepper Jack or Monterey Cheddar cheese, grated
1 onion, finely diced
1/2 teaspoon taco seasoning
2 tablespoons fresh parsley or cilantro, minced
4 cloves garlic, crushed or pressed
1 teaspoon olive oil

In a skillet, brown the bacon until crisp but not brown. Drain on and pat dry with paper towels. Crumble into small bits.
Peel garlic cloves. Put through a garlic press or crush with the side of a heavy knife, then finely mince.

In a medium saucepan, over low heat, sauté onions until clear. Heat garlic until lightly golden, pressing it into the oil to flavor it. Do not allow the garlic to brown.

Add remaining ingredients and bacon bits. Cook over low heat until the cheese has melted.

Serve warm with tortilla chips or toasted pita wedges and a side of salsa.

This will definitely be the biggest hit at the party! This is such an easy appetizer to make and it tastes just like the jalapeno poppers you wish you could make yourself! The hardest part of this recipe is not eating it all by yourself! Serve with sliced sourdough baguettes, tortilla chips or crackers.

INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
2 ounces canned diced jalapeno peppers, drained
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
Stir together cream cheese and mayonnaise in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in green chiles and jalapeno peppers. Pour mixture into a microwave safe serving dish, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Microwave on High until hot, about 3 minutes.
Baked Variation

If you would like to brown the cheese, bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for about 30 minutes.

Is it required to be a "creamy" dip or can it be a salsa? I made a really good salsa tonight

1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can of corn with peppers (like a Mexican style), drained and rinsed
1/2 of a small white onion, chopped
2 tbsp chopped cilantro, fresh
2 roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
2 tsp salt
1 small can chopped chili peppers
4 tbsp Quesadilla Magic Green Chili sauce (made by Hatch)

Mix all and chill, serve as a side dish or as a salsa with tortilla chips.

I love this dip, as do most people that try it!
NACHO DIP

250g Soft Cream Cheese
250g Sour Cream
1T Mayonnaise

Beat these ingredients together and spred in to a shallow, square serving dish (I have one that is 8x8in) and refrigerate
cover with (in order, spread evenly over the cheese mixture)

1 jar (150g) tomato and chillli relish
1 chopped tomato
1/2 chopped yellow capsicum (though not chilli- I'm not sure where you are from or what you call them!)
handful of grated cheese
sliced shallots/ spring onion stems

I'm sorry if you are not from australia and have to change your measurements. This is a very colourful dip and the texture and taste changes the more or less salsa topping you scopp on to your cracker! Enjoy

Blue Cheese Dip

1 Package Cream Cheese
8 oz Sour Cream
1/4 Onion grated
6 oz Crumbled Blue Cheese
Pepper and Worchestershire Sauce to taste

Put first three ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Add cheese ,1/4 tsp pepper, and a dash of Worchestershire Sauce. Process just enough to mix. Remove to serving bowl. Correct seasoning.

Here's a good bean dip recipe. What you'll need.
1 can refried beans, 1# ground beef, 1 medium onion (diced) 1/2 cup diced celery, 1/2 green pepper (diced) 1 can diced tomatoes(drained). One packet of taco seasoning.
Brown the ground beef & onion breaking up the meat till it's crumbly; add the rest & simmer till vegetables are cooked tender. (about 20-25 minutes)Season with salt & pepper to taste.
Serve with Fritos scoops or tortilla chips.
This is even good as a coney sauce on hot dogs.

I don't know if you can find this where you live, but here I found this dip called a bacon cheddar dip made by Snack-King, usually next to chips in the grocery store, in a black, orange and white package, everytime I make it, I make like 4 packages in several bowls because people end up taking off with the dip! Definetly a hit. It's the kind of dip you mix with sour cream and I eat it with wavy lays plain or cheddar chips...good luck!
