Whats a good idea to make boring white cupcakes exciting?!

Question: I'm making some white "funfetti" cupcakes with rainbow chip icing, and I was trying to think of something good to put in the center of it?

Would putting icing in the middle be okay BEFORE baking?

I was thinking of chocolate Kisses, or chocolate chips, but would chocolate taste okay in white cupcakes?

Any other ideas would be great!

for the top, different color frosting and sprinkles, yum lol. for the center you should definitely put some sort of chocolate.a hershey's kiss is the best thing that comes to mind. if they made little tiny bite size snickers that'd be good to, but i don't think they make those.

chocolate would be great! i just hope you dont burn the cupcakes!!!

Icing in the middle is very complicated. I would put chocolate chips and sprinkles in before baking. It turns out great!

Chocolate goes with anything. Or you could even dust them with cocca powder for some color.

sprinkles!!!!!!!

Dragées!! Little (edible) silver balls!! I've loved them since I was little.

you can find decorations at the store... you know those packets with letters in them that are edible that you can put on birthday cakes, well they make those with little designs too instead of letters.. i'm sure you could get hearts or something for v-day. and prop one up in the middle of it! (we did that for christmas with red velvet cupcakes with a reigndeer in the middle) it was too cute! ... i bet putting some of those candy hearts with sayings on them would be cute too.

blue berries

make some light coloured any flavor pudding that you can add some red food color to turn it reddish/pink, after baked, poke two or three holes with a straw in the cupcakes and drizzle in the coloured pudding (i use a zip lock bag with a corner snipped off to squirt the pudding right into the holes and fill)...then ice the cupcakes and sprinkle on the funfetti

putting a different frosting

When the cupcakes come out of the oven let them cool and stick them in the fridge for a bit just until they get a slight chill on them. Mix a small package of strawberry jello according to package directions. Take the cupcakes out of the fridge and make lots of holes on top with a toothpick and pour some of the jello liquid over the cupcakes, NOT A LOT JUST A LITTLE. Refridgerate a few hours and then to serve top with whip cream. It's very good!!
