How to cook a baked potato & what are healthly things to put on it?!
Pre heat oven to 350 to 375 degrees, wash your potato well, poke holes in it with a fork and bake for 1 hour.
top it with Parmesan cheese and steamed broccoli or spoon over low fat sour cream and cauliflower.
I like to take a thin slice of ham and chop it up fine, mix in a little cheddar (extra sharp, you use less and maximize flavor) then add broccoli.. Good luck.
Answers: Parmesan cheese is the Lowest fat cow milk cheese and it is tasty on baked potatoes..

lightly coat it with some oil and sprinkle a little salt on it. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 40-60 minutes (until soft).
Salsa is a nice healthy topping.
You can cook one in the microwave in about 10 minutes. When you think it's done, stick a fork in it and if it goes in real easy, it's done.
Put low fat sour cream, low fat cheese and broccoli on it if you want it to be healthy.
You can also poke a few holes in it with a fork and put it in the microwave for 5 min. Turn it over and cook for another 5 min. and it will be done. Light ranch dressing is another healthy topping!
Wash it with water. Dry it off. Poke holes in it with a fork. Put in the microwave for about 5 minutes. Squeeze to see if it's soft. If not, place back in microwave for a few more minutes. Use butter and salt.
Preheat your toaster oven or regular oven to 350 degrees. Now scrub the potato well with a brush or the rough side of one of those two-sided sponges (but not if you've used the sponge with cleaning supplies of course!) and water.
If you want to bake it, a great one is to rub your hands with either butter or olive oil and rub it all over the potato, slightly salt the outside with some sea salt or kosher salt (remember that regular table salt should ONLY be used "at the table" as an added seasoning. Most people don't know that it's not made to cook with and because it has anti-caking agents in it can make food bitter and TOO salty so buy the blue box that says "kosher salt!") and then wrap it in aluminum foil. Bake for one hour and it will be perfect. Plus you can eat the skin. If you like a drier skin, just skip the oil/butter and salt.
If you want to microwave it, just take a steak knife and poke three or for holes all the way through the potato (again, after you wash it well). Now lay it on a paper towel and bake it for 4 minutes. LET IT SIT FOR AT LEAST FIVE MINUTES, then turn it over and another 4 minutes. Just keep doing this until after you've let it sit for the last five minutes, you stick your steak knife through it and it goes through almost as smoothly as butter. It should be hard or it's not done. Even if you undercook it, you can always put it back in for a couple of minutes and that's also even if you've already cut it open!
Healthy toppings: Plain yogurt with a little chives, parsley, salt and pepper mixed in. You can use any kind of light or fat-free cheese (although they're NOT healthy and you're MUCH better off just using less of the real thing), you can also use creamy soups poured over a baked potato. Other than the lettuce, you can put all your favorite salad items in one too! You can build it any way you want.
Good luck and enjoy! :-)
If you want to make it easy and not have to go through to much making this then you can poke holes in the potatoe and put it in the microwave. there should be a setting on the mic that is a potatoe setting. once you take it out make sure that it is soft by poking it with a fork. some good healthy topping that i put on mine are not the regular salt or sour cream ii usually put some seasoned salt on there and then i put less than a tablespoon of butter on tehre a tiny sliver of it and it is the unsalted butter i also sometimes on occasions put the fat free ranch dressing on with that as well.
1. Wash the potato, dry it, poke it with a fork, then place it onto a plate.
2. Cover with cling/clear film and microwave on full for 10 minutes.
3. Sprinkle some coarse salt onto a baking tray and place the microwaved potato on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 400F for about 20-30 minutes to crisp up.
4. When it's done, cut a cross in the top of the potato, squeeze the lovely fluffy potato and serve with tuna and sweetcorn.
On the Food Network, i saw that the cook cut the potatoes then put broccile on it with cheese.

Show: How To Boil Water
Episode: Economically Delicious
OR
4 small russet potatoes
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoons kosher or sea salt, plus for seasoning
Freshly ground black pepper
1 bunch chives (about 1-ounce)
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 slices bacon, cooked crispy, and crumbled, optional garnish
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Toss the potatoes in a bowl with the oil, salt, and pepper until completely coated. Place on a baking sheet and bake until fork tender, about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring a small pot of water to a boil and salt it generously. Fill a medium bowl with ice water. Put the chives in the boiling water and cook until bright green, about 30 seconds. Immediately, plunge into the ice water to set the color. Squeeze all the water out of the chives and give them a rough chop. Put into a blender with the sour cream. Pulse until you have a smooth green sauce and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Chill until ready to serve. (Or, thinly slice the chives and stir into the sour cream, season with salt and pepper, to taste.)
Cut the potatoes lengthwise and then across. Pinch and press the sides to open the potatoes. Divide the butter among the potatoes and serve with the sour cream. Garnish with crumbled bacon if desired.
Okay i'm just answering the topping part:
Broccoli with or without cheese sauce
Chili, specially if you make it yourself and use lean meat
Use counrty style frozen veggies, once again with or w/o the cheese sauce. Or some butter or butter substitue (I can't believe it's not butter etc...), with fat free sour cream and the country veggies.
