What foods to get for a fondue party for 8?!
Answers: I'm having some friends over in a few weeks and can't remember all the different things to have for dipping. We'll be using oil in one pot for dinner and cheese in the other; then for dessert, we'll have one pot each for chocolate and caramel. Last time I did fondue, I ended up with a ton of extra foods, so any help on the most popular items would be great!
Dinner:
Thick bread
Meat(chicken, turkey, pork, veal, beef, and small meatballs)
Shrimp (sometimes good)
Various Vegetables
Chopped cooked onions
Bacon bits
Tomato slices
Salsa Chips
Dessert:
Big strawberries
Big Marshmallows
Apple slices
Bit sized cuts on Bannna
Maraschino cherries
Bite sized pieces of Cake
Cookies
Pretzles
Gramma Crackers
Here's a list of some ideas!
P.S. You can also have a bowl of broken up walnuts for dessert to sprinkle on stuff!
peas on a stick
strawberries, angel food cake, chicken, beef, bread, bananas, oranges (really good with chocolate)
apples, bread, pineapple, lobster, steak,
For the cheese fondue:
Bread
Celery
Apples
Crackers
For the chocolate fondue:
Graham crackers
Marshmallows
Strawberries
Cherries
Pretzels
Angel Food Cake
Bananas
chips fruit and veggies
You can go to the Melting Pot Restaurant Web site and download a full menu there. It sounds like fun.
