Does anyone know of a recipe for caramel apples?!

Question: I am wanting to find an easy recipe for caramel apples to use as wedding favors. I don't want to use the little individual wrapped caramel candies for them though...I would actually like to "dust" them in white chocolate also, or drizzle the chocolate over them...

Here's a good one :

1 cup butter (no substitutes)
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
8-10 wooden sticks
8-10 medium tart apples

In a heavy saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and milk; bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reads 248 degrees (firm ball stage) about 30-40 minutes.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
Insert wooden sticks into the apples.
Dip each apple into hot caramel mixture; turn to coat.
Holding by the stick, sprinkle with nuts or whatever you desire while the caramel is still warm.
Set on buttered wax paper to cool.
Note: if making a double recipe make two recipes in two separate pots.

easy and lovely :)

Don't cover the entire apple in caramel...that's just a sticky mess and doesn't seem very "wedding-ish".

Melt some caramel and drizzle it over the apples. Do the same thing with some chocolate. It will be fun but at the same time elegant. Good luck ;-)

I think that having white chocolate apples at your wedding is very original and great. I bet your groom is proud that he has found such a great intuitive person.
