Am I supposed to cut the bone out of a venison roast before cooking?!
Answers: I was told that it's not good to cook with the bone in. Why?
When it comes to Venison.I like to take the bone out.It can give you a little off taste...Besure you trim all the fat from venison as it has a rancid taste and will also give your meat a stronger game flavor....also if the deer was cleaned properly it should taste close to beef.
I don't cook venison fast or over cook it.It will be dry like cardboard and tuff.Venison cooks in about half the time as beef.
I season the chops and steaks with pepper,garlic and onion salt.My husband just uses salt and pepper.
Before cooking let the meat set out for 20 mins.with seasoning on it...optional.Some like it this way and some people don't.
For an appetizer using venison...slice steaks very thin.Dip in egg wash and then Italian bread crumbs.(May add a little parmesan cheese)fry and top with lots of sauteed onions.

Just remember not to over cook your venison.It also continues to cook after removing from the pan...

Leave the bone in. It adds flavor, helps conduct heat so it cooks faster, and the meat next to the bone is usually quite tender.
No, leave it in. Any meat is better to leave the bone in. The meat comes out more tender and juicy and helps the meat cook faster because the bone heats up and heats it from the inside out. If you decide to take the bone out, though put a metal skewer in the middle because the heat through that will help it cook faster too.
It dosen't really matter if the bone is in or out, unless it is wild venison, there are some bacteria and diseases which can transfer into the meat, specially if the meat isnt cooked properly
