cook on the stove instead. I did this one time and the food tasted awful, I don't think you have enough time to remedy the situation. What are you trying to cook?
explain order chinees, indian, or chippy get some wine down you both and laugh at it.
I always clean my oven using the warm method that way all those fumes and residue are dealt with when cleaning.
I would turn it off, let it cool down and scrub it down with water, dry it and try again
Get a takeaway, im sure he/she wont mind just this once.
To get rid of some of the smell, make sure oven has coolded completely, then take warm water with a little lemon juice added, and rub down the inside of the oven with an old dishrag.
I had the problem when I couldn't get the fish smell out of the oven and I needed to bake a cake. My mom also suggested for me to turn on the oven and let it preheat to 450. Turn oven off and put a casserole or pyrex dish with water and lemon juice and let it sit for approx 30 mins.
All I know is that when I wiped down the inside with water and lemon juice, my cake didn't taste like fish.
Good luck
Sorry but when you have finished cleaning your oven with this vile stuff you should be putting your oven on for an hour or so as to get rid of the remains of the cleaner. Good old fashioned tip.
Leave it a while longer on high open the window and it should be okay. However by that time you'll probably be starving so pack the loved one off to get a take away.

put a pot of water on the stove with some vanilla..open the window for a better ventilation if you can... the smell should go away..don't panic you'll be allright!
Everything I'm cooking tonight is on the stovetop. Veal and mushroom alfredo. And a green salad with balsamic vinaigrette, feta, and candied pecans. Leave the oven cleaning to this weekend.
Or you could have what I call a "carpet picnic". Order take out, still light the candles, put out a nice blanket in front of the TV, lots of pillows, pop in a movie, use your best plates even for pizza, and pretend you're having your own in home picnic. Still romantic! I got proposed to this way!
Get a take-away...it will still be lovely and in a few years you will look back and laugh about it ! It will be a good story to tell your grandchildren hehe :)
Be sure to turn on the exhaust fan over the stove to get some of the smell out. It should burn off eventually. Try cooking something on the stove - like pasta. Everyone loves spaghetti...it's fast and easy. Serve with bread and a salad. Put an apple in the oven (on a pie tin) to get rid of some of the smell. Good luck.
Use a crock pot and turn it into pot roast or even a pressure cooker!
If you have a toaster oven, use that!
If all of this fails, slice that sucker into steaks and make delicious steaks in a fry pan with carmelized onions!
Good Luck. Happy Valentines Day!
