How do you know baked potatoes are done?!

You can press into them with fingers on both sides and they give or crush inward. Depends on how big they are and what kind. Check cookbook

Depending on the size, I wrap my medium potatoes in aluminum foil and bake them for about an hour. I like mine done.

You can always test by inserting a sharp knife in it and if it goes in easily without effort on your part it is done.

at 350 about 45 min to 1 hour.
to make it quicker nuke them first for 7 min.

Normally it takes 20 minutes. You can make sure it is done by slicing it with the help of a spoon

I don't know if this is correct or not, it just works for us.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Wash each potato, then place each one onto a piece of aluminum foil, put one tsp butter on it and sprinkle with sea salt. Pull up each corner of foil to enclose the potato. Continue on the other three. Place all enclosed potatoes in a round baking pan.

Bake 4 large (not baker's potatoes) for approx 45-55 mins but to check for doneness, use a paring knife or other thin knife to insert into potato. When inserted easily, potatoes are done.

Stick a Knife in it, that's the best test. Use your discretion.

It depends on the size of your potato, but usually 400 degrees for 1 hour is perfect. With a potholder on, just give them a little squeeze and see if they're hard or soft.

I can tell they are done by squeezing them and if they are soft in the middle they are done. I bake mine just on the rack in a 350 degree oven for a little over an hour.

The best way to tell when it is done is to take your oven mitt, grab ahold of the spud and give it a gentle squeeze. If it gives a little - it's done. I normally cook mine at 400o for 1 hour. By doing it this way you don't have to poke holes in it or cut into it. If you wrap it in foil or not - this method works for both.

If you squeeze them and they're soft, they are ready. About an hour at 200C.
Use tongs or oven mitts.

I always squish mine with the back of a fork, if it gives then I poke the middle to make sure it is soft inside. I usually just nuke mine for 5 minute intervals either wrapped in suran wrap or in a ziploc baggie. the baggie is great to keep steam in, but beware, you need to use the heavy duty one the thinner ones melt 8-(
