I love this: cut pitas into triangles, brush with a small amount of olive oil and sprinkle with a tad of sea salt or kosher salt and bake them a bit crisp and dip in the hummus. very tasty
I've always seen people eat warm pita bread with Hummas. No it is not fatty. It's actually healthier than other dips!!! Yummy!!!That's a great gift...;-)say thanks to them for me. ;-)

Pringles are good with Hummus!!
toasted bread, french bread, naan bread, all sorts of things. Sometimes I even use it as a salad dressing.
The best thing is warm pitta bread. That's how the Greeks eat it.
I served it with baked tortilla chips, bread cubes, and celery at a party. If you serve it in a bowl, whiz up some parsley and olive oil and float that on top of the hummus. I got compliments on that dish.
My Friend, what you have is a GIFT from GOD..
(Hummus is one of the MOST nutritious foods around...)
Even the Mayo Clinic agrees!
Everyone here says "pita-pita-pita"...
But let me open a WHOLE new world of delight to you...
Hummus is a creamy puree of chickpeas and tahini (sesame seed paste) seasoned with lemon juice and garlic, and is a popular spread and dip in Greece and through out the Middle East. Hummus can be served as part of a meze platter; with bread or vegetable crudites as a dip or spread for pita sandwiches, lavash or pide bread, or as a tasty, creamy alternative to butter! A spoonful or two of hummus can also be added to Middle Eastern or Greek pilafs and stews to add richness! Pizza made with Hummus!! Ohhhh Yeah, I like the fresh Pre-made crust.. spread a thin coating of Hummus on crust, cover in grilled veggies and a very light sprinkle of feta and Mozzarella to hold everything in place (DON'T Drown it in cheese)
Ever had Pantini? It's like toasted bread slices... you can get parsean cheese ones (but all flavors are nice with hummus) and slightly warm in the oven.. yum.
AND great for such things as falafel, grilled chicken, grilled eggplant. Hummus can be garnished with colorful vegetables and garnishes (much like us american use cream cheese dips) which can include parsley, sumac, cumin, pine nuts, chopped or thin slices tomato, cucumber, cilantro, sauteed mushrooms, olive oil & boiled eggs.
I've taken artichoke heart and stuffed them with hummus and warmed then a bit....... yuuuuuuum.
A Little toasted seasme seed oil blended into it.. wonderful.
Since you asked this question.. I am guessing it could be among your first experiences with this food... but most people either hate or love it right away. I suggest start slowly.. in little amounts and get USE to the texture and then the flavor, this is indeed a health food for life.
PEACE
PS.. NO it is NOT a fatty FOOD!!
Some toasted flatbreak would be great. Have a good day!!
carrot sticks and bits of celery - better for you than crisps!

Hummus is lovely. I like it either on some crusty bread or as a dip with breadsticks or bits of pitta bread.
