Try making candy. Like lollipops or taffy. Sometimes it is a total disaster and sometimes it is delicious.
This is the lollipop recipe I use:

What you need for the actual pops:
1 Cup Sugar
2 Teaspoons Light Corn Syrup (Karo)
1/3 Cup Water
Food Coloring
Desired Flavorings
Cooking Oil or Spray

To use to put the candy on something:
Lollipop Sticks

Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan. Cook over a medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Bring to a boil and heat to 297o. Without stirring add coloring and flavoring as desired. Turn heat to high and heat to 300o. Remove from heat. Drop by spoonfuls into buttered lollipop molds or onto buttered slab. Insert sticks. Seal each stick with a drop of the mixture. Cool completely and wrap in plastic food wrap. Serve at room temperature.

Flavoring Suggestions: For one batch of syrup add 1/2 teaspoon of raspberry, orange, lime or lemon flavoring or whatever flavoring you desire.

Don't attempt if you aren't prepared to stand there the whole time or if you don't have a candy thermometer. And, it gets hard really fast so you have to be speedy when making the pops. You can also, instead of mold, just put some sticks on a silicome mat and pour the candy over the sticks. The candy won't stick to the mat. One more tip, Although it looks like you made a complete mess of your pots, just soak them in some hot water and soap, the hard candy will come off.
