How to make stewed tomatoes?!
If you just want enough to eat for a meal prepare the same as above, but instead of putting in jars put them in a pot with a lid. cover almost all the way to the top of tomatos with water then slowly bring up the temp.bring to boil reduce heat and simmer until done.
Answers: Place them in a pan of boiling water for about one minute, then place the tomatos in a bowl of ice water. This will loosen the skins. score the tomato with a sharp knife and peel the skins off. If you are canning them you woild place whole tomatoes in your mason jar, add some juice from some of the tomatoes along with a little water and somevinegar. place any seasonings in there as well place the jars into your pressure cooker with the water at the right level.Use two part lids, place the flat part on the mouth of the jar, shiny side up, and side with rubber gasket on the glass, place the ring over the top of jar but do not tighten. let them cook. when they are done and cooled off a bit then tighten the lids.
