Do you like to make extra food when cooking so you can put some in the?!

Question: freezer to eat later?

Answers: freezer to eat later?

I always do that it is convenient for later use and allows you to have more of a variety so you don't have to eat the same thing for 3 or 4 days.

yep

I'm always having hard time cooking a meal just for two, I usually end up with leftovers in the fridge...Then the BF can have leftovers when I work the night shift and won't be home for dinner. Sometimes he won't and I end up having to throw food away after it has sat in the fridge for days...

Yes, I do. Since we have become empty nesters, it has been quite difficult to cut down on the amount of food that is cooked, when you're used to cooking for a medium sized family. I really like having extras in the freezer for those times when you don't feel like cooking or just don't know what you want to fix.

yes sometimes when i don't feel like cooking. i like to freeze my homemade vegetable beef soup.

I always do that. Make sure you put it in Ziploc bag and label the date and content.

oh yes!!
when i have a short supply on time.......
when company comes over ........
when i am just tired from all the hustle and bustle of the day..
thank ful for those frozen leftovers.........!!!
anyways, the flavors has the time to marry and taste better!!

oh yes I love left overs.

I don't even have to make extra. One recipe is more than enough for the two of us. What's leftover either goes in his lunchpail for work, I eat some for breakfast, and the rest goes in the freezer.

yahh it gets boring to cook everyday and so u can have more variety to eat from the freezer

****I have done this for years, by a food saver and Vacuum seal the leftovers, there just like they were when you first cooked them, when you reheat them.
It’s a lot cheaper to cook large meals than it is to try to make smaller amounts. In fact yesterday I just froze 15 bowls of chili, if I just tried to make 1 or 2 bowls it would not turn out as tasty.

In fact there is a yahoo group called Frozen Assets where we share recipes for once a month cooking.

Yes, or instead of the freezer just put it in several separate smaller containers and take it for my lunch during the week. Much less expensive than going out to eat all of the time.
