What food shall I buy?!
Answers: I am a college student and I dont have much time to cook, and usually eat on campus. However every weekend I find myself hungry at home. I used to keep sandwich sfuff but it always goes bad before I eat it. Any SPECIFIC suggestions on what to buy that lasts a long time, but is also very very easy to prepare??
There are microwave meals that are stored on the shelf not the freezer.Canned soups and stews.PB&J is a good stand by to have.Cheese and crackers.Bagged salad is also good to keep on hand.Boxed mac and cheese.Jarred spaghetti sauce and pasta is fast to fix too.Just a few ideas for you.I hope it helps.
The best way is to plan ahead what you want to have, so you use the products before they get bad. If you do that, you won't have any problems :)
You know what? You can make a list of things that you have eaten before, and you really liked. Then just go to the supermarket with a list of ingredients.
Canned food is one thing that always helps. Buy a cooking book with recipes with few ingredients or something like that. You can also search on the internet in foodnetwork.com
try making lasagna and freezing it it portion or try like soups stews etc
buy frozen dinners, they normally have a long expiry date and theres lots of variety.
Buy some different pastas. Get canned spaghetti sauce (although I dispise it) rice and other things that you think would go good with it. Or you might try getting lean cuisine dinners. Thats pretty much all I can think of If you don't have time to cook.
Boxed mac and cheese, dry pasta and jars of pasta sauce, canned tuna fish, canned soups, canned chili, frozen dinners, bread and English muffins freeze well, chips. All very easy.
well im not in college yet or anything, but my aunt is and she has a lot of snacks in her dorm. i cant remember if you can have microwaves but i would if you can i would by microwaveable food.
Ramen noodle cups. Also, Easy Mac bowls, and if you go into an Asian Food store they have different asian noodle and rice bowls. Some just need water added an a microwave. Some just need to be heated up. Very fast and tasty!
You can get ready meals that keep in the fridge for ages, you stick them in the microwave and by the time you`ve poured out your lager their done. There`s loads to choose from too.
Microwave stuff you keep in the freezer. Canned stuff lasts a long time. Maybe stuff like instant pudding. There are these sandwitch things that you keep in the fridge and when you want to eat, you open up the bread, put in the meat, add whatever toppings and microwave. It's great for your kind of situation! They are normally by the meat section or by the deli.
