Is it possible to half the baking regular recipes?!
Or else, how could i save my ingredients?
Answers: I'm trying different types of cookies recipes from the net, but they are not mostly reliable. So im trying to lessen the yield, for example, 1dozen i change it to half dozen. The ingredients will be halfed too. Is it possible? Will i get the same taste?
Or else, how could i save my ingredients?
yes, since everything is still proportionate.
This is very useful if it's just you or only two people.
I always use this method and it works great for baking!
(the baking time will be more like 3/4 instead of 1/2 because of the properties of heat, however)
let us know how it goes!
yeah it should work.
half an egg would be difficult to get if the recipe called for a whole egg
but hey it's worth a try
Yes, as long as you halve every ingredient in the recipe it will be fine. If it is a cake or something that is baked altogether you will need a smaller pan and maybe a shorter baking time.
It is possible to halve recipes for cookies, if you have to add 1egg what you can do is beat it and only add half of the egg, the other half can be used in an omelette or scrambled egg.
The other choice you have is to freeze half of the mixture and cook it later.
yes, it is possible. take the yield and divide it by .5 then times all your ingredients by the answer when divided the yield, that would be called the conversion factor. yes, it will work. trust me.
Yes, you can cut any cookie recipe in half and have the same taste. Just be sure to cut all ingredients in half...to use half an egg, break it into a dish and beat it, then measure out half of it. This is actually most easily done in your 1 cup liquid measuring glass.
Have fun with your new recipes!
