Hey, if you like jalapenos I have an AWESOME recipe for homemade poppers... yummy. :)

Because if you touch the seeds and then touch the area around your eyes, your eyes will burn.

If you get the embryo and seed or juice under your nails and on your skin-they will burn. Rub your eyes or your cootchie and they will burn also.

The seeds are the hottest part of the pepper, and contain oils that can seep into your skin. It is then hard to get the oils out, and you can transfer it to other parts of your body (rubbing your eyes, for instance).

I always wear gloves when cutting/deseeding jalapenos.

The seeds and the internal rib hold all the heat of the pepper. The capsaicin oil can get on your hands and burn.

Ware plastic gloves, they will burn you and if you touch your eye or something...it is going to hurt so bad and could even be serious.

that's so you don't get it in your eyes, or touch your dog, and then they get it in their eyes, and then in their stool then b4 you know it the whole house is eating mexican food, and drinking tequila, and then you got drug dealers knockin on the door, then there goes the neighborhood.

it will burn your hands very badly if you tuch it enough you could have to go to ER it happened to my cuz.

they will burn your eyes and mouth if you touch the seeds i suggest you get some latex gloves and peel and cut them with the latex gloves on and also remove the seeds this way you hands are free from chilli taste it will be a bit milder when the seeds are removed, i have got used of them being hot to eat but if you havent becareful drink plenty of milk not water

Well, the seeds are the hottest in the whole pepper. If you touch them and then your skin, especially near eyes and face, it will BURN A LOT! But, if you are cautious, then you can use your bare hands to empty out the pepper and quickly, WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER THOROUGHLY!!! Hope I helped. =)
