20mins per lb + 20 mins over is the standard timing, so approx 1hr 50 mins. Check it's cooked by sticking a skewer or thin sharp knife into the bird near the breast bone. The juices should run clear and not pink when it's done.

Preheat the oven to 350F or 180C. Check you have removed giblets from inside, rinse on cold water and place in a roasting pan, Cover loosely with foil or greasproof paper.

Put into the oven for 15 mins then reduce heat to 325F or 170C for the remaining time. Remove covering for last 15 mins.

about an hour + 45 min depending on basting if your doing that , i'd cook it at 325

about 2 hours, just to be safe..

4.88 lb = 2.2 kg

in oven 180-200 C temperature = 1 hour/ 1kg chicken

so
4.88 lb = 1 1/2 - 2 Hours. at 180-200 c

(note :cover with foil. And uncover it at the last 20-30minutes for nice brown colour)
