Need someone good with kitchen appliances... help!!?!
Answers: My friend gave me her food proccessor when she got a new one. I had never had one and when it didnt have its instruction book I was lost. I figured out part of it.. where you can blend soft stuff in the container.. like make a cake and things. but the slicing mechanism is a puzzler to me. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to assemble and use it. My QUESTION is.... does anyone know of a place on the internet that would give detailed instructions for such an item? Thanks for listening to the actual question. and for you help.. Lainey
Look up the make/model online and see if you can't download a user manual. Also check ebay.
For slicing and shredding, there should be a pin of some sort that goes in the center. Then the slice/grate attachment goes on that pin. It should be right up next to the chute where you add food, so there is room underneath for shredded/sliced food.
FP's are great for making pie crust, but I don't think I'd use it to mix a cake. It may overmix the batter and come out kind of tough.
It would help to know the brand and what style it is before anyone can probably help you. Most of them aren't very complicated, so I'm lost on what to tell you.
Usually there is a model name and possibly number on the appliance. I would go to the manufacturer's website and see if they had an online manual. Also, if they don't have a manual online, call and see if they would send you one. You may have to pay shipping, but most companies would gladly send you a manual.
Maybe you could ask your friend to show you how to use the food processor that she owned at one time??
There should be another piece for the slicer/shredder, it's just a strait hollow stick sort of a thing with a metal tip. This piece sets the shreddder slicer up closer to the lid, to shred/slice and then let the finished product fall into the container below. Look for it with the parts and pieces or ask your friend to look for at their house. You could maybe go online and order one, but I'm not sure.
