Pasta, quick and easy to make! Or try Uncle Ben's rice with sauce, only takes a couple of minutes but you may need to buy alot of packets. Cheap though...

tom ramen can feed eight with multiple pots in under five minutes and will cost less than 1 dollar. Just put three pots on the stove and put two bags in each pot and you are good to go. Also, rice and macaroni and cheap and filling

Pasta with a stir in sauce is really easy about 15 minutes including boiling time for the water.

Pretty healthy too.

Not sure on an unhealthy one?

2 heads of leafy green lettuce, tomatoes, olives, red onions, cucumbers, pepperonceni, and Olive Garden salad dressing.

get some bread sticks and bake them in the oven

2 jumbo cans of tomato soup and various toppings for the soup.

Spaghetti bolognaise.

All ingredients are cheap
Spaghetti
Mince
Tomato paste
Onions
Herbs/spices
Lots of garlic
Skinned tomatos

To spice it up add a little chilli powder.

You cant forget the garlic bread though

Most people love chicken. This is a personal receipt of mine as well. Take chicken as much of it as you want. Add in a 16 oz coke for each bird. Then add in 1/2 bottle of ketchup for each bird. Let it come to a boil, simmer for about 45 min, you have instant and GREAT BBQ Chicken.

I buy the large canned chicken and have many recipes for fast and easy

Boil some noodles
In separate pan mix Chicken [drained and shredded] , a jar of alfreso sauce and a can of drained mushrooms

Top noodles with hot chicken sauce
Bon Apetite !!

I will first cook one or two frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a hot large fry pan, once cooked remove and cut up then keep warm while your throwing one or two bags of frozen mixed vegetables in the same hot pan to cook. don't add water, but cover the pan for moisture. When veggies are done, add the cut up chicken and heat through. Make a simple sauce with just a splash or two if soy sauce or if you have it some teriyaki sauce.

In the frozen food isle, they have bagged veggies for stir frys. Our favorites are sugar snap pea stir fry and asparagus stir fry, but you of course use what your family likes.

my moms mac and cheese.
Simple dish but still my favorite dish if mommy is making it

ingredients
macaroni
pork mince
cheese
dried bread crumb
oil or butter

boil the macaroni till done
roll the mince into small meat balls and fry in a pan
mix together and gradually ad the cheese and some butter/oil
stirr well
put in an oven dish and cover with a bit of leftover cheese, breadrcumb and butter/oil
pop under the grill till the breadcrumb is nice and brown...
Just ate lunch and got hungry again just by the thought.

Mock beef stroganoff...

Ground beef browned with chopped onion and fat drained
Throw in a boullion cube or two and a cup of water per cube.
Let cook down a little bit. Throw in a can of cream of mushroom soup. Simmer about 15-20 minutes. Mix in some sour cream, you want to put in just enough to make the gravy a tan color...not too white. Serve over cooked egg noodles.

A friend of mine that has many kids....6 as a matter of fact and on a very tight budget does this and it's actually really good. Whenever she makes say...chicken, beef or pork she will wrap up the leftover meat and freeze it. When she has a nice amount saved up (which is usually pretty fast) she takes all the frozen leftovers choosing only one of course...or combining the beef and pork. Puts it, still frozen into a crockpot on high with bbq sauce and lets it cook away. Then when it's done she breaks it all up with a fork and serves them on warm buns and either frozen fries or homemade potatoe wedges and a frozen veggie.

Another cheap, quick but healthy meal is simply taking frozen chopped spinach, thawed...saute some chopped garlic in oil...I prefer olive but safflower is much cheaper. Throw in the spinach, add a can of chicken broth. I season mine with a little old bay seasoning or cayenne and a bit of whatever else I feel in the mood for at the time. A little salt and pepper and toss into pasta of choice. Sprinkle with some grated cheese and serve with warm bread or garlic bread. Love it.

EASY ONE - DISH SUPPER

2 tbsp. catsup
1/4 tsp. each oregano, thyme, basil & parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 egg, beaten
Omelet & souffle seasoning

(1 package of refrigerated biscuits can be used and don't need to raise).
Brown beef and onion in a Dutch oven. Add next 9 ingredients. Cover; simmer 15 minutes. Cool to warm, divide dough into 20 pieces and place on top of warm beef mixture. Cover; let rise 30 minutes or until pieces of bread dough have doubled in size. Lightly brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with omelet and souffle seasoning. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

baked beans on toast.........yum

frozen veggies are very healthy and inexpensive. Whole chickens are the most economical way to purchase. Rice and pasta is also very inexpensive. Just throw them together with some broth, salt, pepper, garlic and you have a hearty, healthy meal.

Chicken and vegetable stir fry with easy satay sauce.
This is my favourite for when I get home and want something fast and healthy(ish). I usually just do it with veg but I know most people like some meat with their meals and chicken is fast and low fat.
Chop up some garlic and ginger and fry in a wok with a little oil, add the diced chicken, when this is nearly cooked add sliced peppers, spring onions, mushrooms and beansprouts and stir fry for 2 mins.
Seve with noodles which need boiling in water for approx 3 mins.
Easy satay sauce can be made either in pan or microwave by combining a couple of teaspoons of crunchy peanut butter, splash of milk, with honey, soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce in proportions to suit you taste.

Should be fridge to table in 10 mins.

This one is my family's favorite. I've made this for potlucks and almost ALL children usually want seconds.
Chop up a pound of boneless/skinless chicken breast and cook in about half a bottle of Lawry's Herb and Garlic Marinade
Boil half a box of any type of pasta until tender
Add one jar of any alfredo sauce to the chicken and sauce (don't pour any of the juices out)
Drain pasta and toss together in a big pot.
You can mix it up by steaming or sauteeing mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, squash. You can make it even easier by getting a big bag of mixed frozen veggies and just steaming it in the microwave and then just add it in when you toss the pasta together. My fam loves this with a little garlic bread. Country crock makes garlic butter and you can just slather some of that onto regular slice bread - no need for fancy stuff!
A little shredded fresh mozzerella, parmigiano-reggiano or regular parmesan cheese (that stuff in the green can) on top gives this dish some extra zing.
Enjoy!

sloppy joes are really easy

fry the meat and put it it a crock pot on low with some manwich, serve with chips and store bought potato salad?

Pasta, eggs, bacon, parmaesan cheese. That's all you need for nirvana.

Boil up a pound of pasta; while that's going, beat up a couple eggs in a HUGE bowl and beat in enough grated cheese to make a thin sort of paste. (It'll look a little like grainy cake batter.) Chop about four slices of bacon into squares, and fry them all up; when the bacon is crispy, take it off the heat ,but leave it in the pan.

When the pasta's done, drain it and dump it into the bowl with the eggs and cheese, and toss it a little bit. Then take the pan of bacon and dump it in, DRIPPINGS AND ALL, into the bowl and toss it all around to mix. The heat from the pasta and bacon will melt the cheese and cook the egg, and the drippings from the bacon will blend with the egg to make a sort of creamy cheese sauce. Add a good amount of pepper.

....this would probably qualify as the "unhealthy" meal idea, but I don't think you'll mind. And it's easily doubled -- four eggs and eight slices of bacon with two pounds of pasta, etc.
