I am making homemade chicken soup, do i put raw noodles in my stock and boil untill done just before i serve?!

Question: or should i cook them seperate? let cook for a long time with stock?

Answers: or should i cook them seperate? let cook for a long time with stock?

I add them when my stock is almost ready.

I cook them separate. It dirties another pan, but I like the way it tastes.

I make my noodles in stock then drain the stock back into the pot. I reserve the noodles and serve them in the bowl and pour the soup over the noodles. this is because if you leave the noodles sit in the soup they will continuously soggy and mooshy.

personally, i would boil them seperately, but thats just how i would do it. but i guess you could do it how you said.

I alway put them in raw a hour before serving, the noodles with thicken the soup when cooked in it.

It depends. I like the slight thickness cooking the noodles in the stock gives the stock. But don't cook more than you need. Generally for 2 cups of stock I add 1/4 c. raw noodles.

Cook them separately, 12 minutes before you want to serve the soup. When you put pasta in the broth it reduces its volume and the starches go into the broth and thicken it. It might end up too salty as a result as well.

I put them in just before I serve it and let them boil until done. It keeps them from getting soggy and turning into mush.

Defiantly cook them with the stock 10-12 minutes before
serving the soup....when the noodles cook they will absorb some of stock and be well seasoned.

If you plan on eating all or most of the soup after making it, It's ok to add them right at the end. If you will have leftovers, I would cook them separately and add as needed. They will get really mushy if you don't.

You put the uncooked noodles in the soup for the last 10-15 minutes of cooking your soup.

Just put them in the stock, but near the end so they just cook. They will fall apart if you keep cooking them the whole time.

i prefer cooking the noodles separately.....too much starch when cooked in the soup.

i boil noodles, shock in cold water, drain, add noodles to bowl, fill bowl with soup.

voila
:)

i just boil them seprate and put it in a bowl so i can scoop it out and have as much as i want.

Cook them in the soup just before serving. If you simmer on low, you can leave them in longer. If the noodles are thick, you can cook them longer and they will absorb the flavor of the stock.
