Regarding recipe questions on YA: Is it just me?!

Question: It's become a pet peeve of mine when I see questions asking for good recipes and the responses they receive are just copied from cooks.com or allrecipes.com. Any brainless idiot can do that and it really bugs me that people can't think of other ways to get their 2 points. If you haven't tried the recipe that is needed or if you don't even know anything about it, don't just type it into these food databases and paste what you find.

That is all. =)

I usually try to include at least one self typed recipe, and if people are looking for some more similar recipes my fav website is kraftfoods.com, but mainly beaucase you can also sign up for a free mag. But I agree if people wnated a random recipe you just search "how to make....." or "recipe for ...." and you have hundreds at your finger tips. I think people want tried and true recipes that others have an opinion on.

I'll take that with fries.

Am I allowed to have 2 points for reading your vent? (I do agree, BTW)

Maybe they have tried the recipe and really liked it and were nice enough to share where they got it. I use allrecipes all the time and have a recipe folder there and at yahoo. Believe it or not some people have never heard of those sites. People are just trying to be helpful.

breathe!

oh and i agree with miss dottie....

And your answers are private because...? I suppose you've never done it, huh?

Sorry, but it doesn't bother me in the least. I guess I have more important things to worry about. And if someone wants to do the "googling" for me, more power to them!

well said.

Thank you.>>>

Actually, I try to give a recipe that I've already made, but if I don't have that, I will search for someone. Actually, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do a recipe search, but you do have to know what you're doing to get the just right answer. I guess I assume some people don't want to search for themselves and I do it for them.

If I gave you a URL instead of a recipe, I'm sorry. Generally speaking, I just try to help...(but when I post a question, I usually ask for already-tried recipes...)

its really good of poeple out there to help, even though they themselves may have never tried it themselves,i just would like to thank everyone for all their responses to all my questions for recipies, tried or not tried, doesnt really matter about 2 points anyway,so be happy someone has gone out of their way to help.
