I need a easy recipe for beef stew-anyone?!

chop the beef into 1 inch cube...place in a bowl and add salt pepper and 2 T flour and toss to cover.
brown meat in 2 T oil or butter .on medium low heat until the meat is browned....add enough water to cover and bring to a boil....turn down to a simmer and let cook about 2 hours or until meat is fork tender...add gravy and diced potatoes and cook another 20 mins.

Hearty Beef Stew

Prep Time: 20 min.
Cook Time: 10 hr.

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 lb. beef for stew, cut into 1-inch pieces
Ground black pepper
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 lb. medium potato, cut into cubes (about 2 1/2 cups)
4 medium carrots, sliced (about 2 cups)
2 medium onions, cut into wedges
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 1/4 cups Swanson? Beef Broth (regular, 50% Less Sodium or Certified Organic)
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dried thyme leaves, crushed
1 bay leaf
1 cup frozen peas



DIRECTIONS:
Sprinkle the beef with black pepper and coat it with 2 tablespoons of the flour. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until it's well browned, stirring often.

Place the potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic into a 5-quart slow cooker. Top with the beef. Add 3 cups of the broth, Worcestershire, thyme and bay leaf.

Cover and cook on LOW for 10 to 11 hours* or until the beef is fork-tender. Remove the bay leaf.

Mix the remaining flour and broth. Stir the flour mixture and the peas into the cooker. Turn the heat to HIGH. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until the mixture boils and thickens.

*Or on HIGH for 5 to 6 hours.

Serves 6.

If you have canned carrots, peas, and corn add them to the stew if you want to make it a better more filling meal. Just a tip and heres your recipe.

This is my moms recipe which she makes alot as shes always on the go for work.

Ingredients
1-2 lb beef stew meat
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can green beans

1 (14 1/2 ounce) can corn

16 ounces tomato sauce
16 ounces tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 small onion
1 lb baby carrots
5 potatoes

Directions
1Brown and tenderize the stew meat.
2Chop the onion.
3Dice the potatoes.
4Place all the ingredients in the crockpot except the stew meat.
5Add 1/3 cup water.
6Place the stew meat on top of the rest of the ingredients in the crockpot.
7Cook on low for eight hours.

put your meat in a skillet and brown it, then add your gravy, then your diced potatoes , if you have any veggies add them. this is my easy way of making stew. hope it helps.

take the meat, gravy and quartered potatoes and throw it all into a crockpot on low for 6 hours. or high for 4 hours. Voila!

Toss it all into the slow cooker and let it cook all day.

Old-Fashioned Beef Stew
Prep: 20 minutes

Ingredients
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
12 ounces beef stew meat, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
2 tablespoons cooking oil
3 cups vegetable juice
1 cup water
1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
1 tablespoon Worcesershire sauce
1-1/2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon granules
1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf
3 cups cubed potato (about 3 medium)
1-1/2 cups frozen cut green beans
1 cup frozen whole kernel corn
1 cup sliced carrot (2 medium)

Directions
1. Place flour in a plastic bag. Add meat cubes, a few at a time, shaking to coat. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven brown meat in hot oil; drain fat. Stir in vegetable juice, water, onion, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon granules, oregano, marjoram, pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until meat is nearly tender.

2. Stir in potato, green beans, corn, and carrot. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, about 30 minutes more or until meat and vegetables are tender. Discard bay leaf.

3. Makes 5 servings (about 7 cups)

4. Slow-cooker directions: Prepare and brown meat as above. In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker layer meat, onion, potatoes, green beans, corn, and carrot. Decrease vegetable juice to 2 cups. Combine vegetable juice, water, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon granules, oregano, marjoram, pepper, and bay leaf. Pour over meat and vegetables in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or on high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender.

Ox Tails
Brown several seasoned pieces at a time to some oil in a fry pan and transfer to a slow cooker, heavy based pot or casserole dish.
Add a little more oil from time to time as necessary and then fry off some onions, garlic and add mixed herbs and stock or water.
Stir well to get all the flavourful bits from the meat of the pan and pour over the pieces and cover.
Cook on low for as long as possible. (About 60 minutes per 500gm)
