Garnishes?!

Question: Any ideas you have for garnishing food? I've seen sweet potato crisps, taro chips, fried shallots, etc anything different that you know of besides those and just chopped herbs etc?

Sauces are one of the simplest garnishes because they come ready prepared in endless colors and textures. You can use anything from ketchup and chocolate sauce to salad dressings and homemade gravy. Just load them into a squeeze bottle. Even scrambled eggs look elegant with a zigzag of ketchup over them.

other garnishes:
deep fried whole leaf herbs (i.e. basil, sage)
whole roasted head of garlic w/ rosemary sprig
edible flowers (chamomile, pansies, geraniums, honeysuckle)
whole stems of rosemary, fresh chives, or cilantro
hummingbird garnish - a serrano pepper and celery made into a hummingbird
asparagus or green beans wrapped in carrot rings
shredded or grated cheese
sprinkle of paprika
beet star - cut a star from a sliced beet

radish roses
pickle fans
cherry tomato blossom
