Theme Pot-Luck ideas?!

Question: My husband and I host a pot luck once a month for an organization he belongs to. He is in charge of deciding what the "theme" is. We bring the main dish (entree) and there are about 5 others who we tell what side or dessert to bring. We have already done Mexican and Italian night. We need some more ideas and some food ideas to go along with each theme. Thanks for any help!!

Here is an example of what we have done:
Italian Night:
I made home made meatballs, sauce and pasta
Others brought: garlic bread, salad, veggies, cannolis, cake, and parmesan cheese

Or you can do an Indian themed meal but I have never had Indian food, so I really can't help you there!
Maybe another idea would be to do a themed meal using the alphabet, like pick the letter P or C and everyone has to bring a dish that starts with C?
Another idea is Las Vegas night, but not sure how you can incorporate that one without using a lot of storebought decorations... Hope I helped some! Good luck!

A pirate night is lots of fun. I put one together one time. Everyone dressed up as some sort of pirate and we ate sea food type stuff. Drank lots of rum and just had lots of fun.

cajun night
jambalaya or red beans and rice

hawaiian night

Do a thankful night like Thanksgiving!! Be thankful for each other. You can have a Turkey and all the trimmings. It's fun to make a turkey on a day beside Thanksgiving!!

How about a breakfast night?

Pancakes, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits, country ham, French toast, sausage & cheese quiche. Various flavors of jellies, jams and syrups.

How about a traditional roast dinner.
Veggie Consume.
Roast Lamb.
Roast Potatoes.
Roast Parsnips.
Roast Butternut.
Steamed Peas.
Gravy.
Cheese Cake.

Turkey Night!! Everyone brings the fixings as though it were a Thanksgiving dinner. If it helps, have a few families pitch in for a couple of huge turkeys. It's easy and everyone knows what sort of food should go with this theme.
