Do I need a bun tin to make fairy cakes?!

Question: I bought a cake mix but I don't have any bun tins, so would it be ok to just put the mixture in the cake cases and place them on a normal baking tray or will the cases just flatten out? And also if thats gonna happen would using 2-3 cases help it to keep its shape?

whenever i have made cakes i have just cooked in the cases. they will be fine. just dont over fill the cases because they need room to rise.

they will be ok in just the cases on a baking tray

they will flatten out but they'll still be delicious

They will spread out a wee bit, but will still look like fairy cakes. No need tae go oot and buy a bun tin. Guid luck...

they will flatten out, i would suggest putting the cases in a quiche dish or casserole dish fairly tightly packed and this will minimise the spreading of the cake mix
