Simple meal involving fish?!

Question: I am thinking of taking a date to a fish market and then cooking her dinner? Anyone know any simple recipes I can use that would taste good and I have least chance of messing up? I know basic cooking skills and would like no marinating involved since I plan to buy fish with her and take it straight back to cook.

Clean it up and place on a baking pan lined with foil paper. Sprinkle with garlic powder and lemon salt. Slice a lemon into thin round slices and place on top. Add a few pats of butter and some lemon juice from the lemon you cut. Close tightly and bake. Do not open to check until it is ready. That way you do not let all the steam out. When you serve, serve it with white rice and a salad. Some tea with lemon.
If you do this right maybe your date will be desert!

Fry her some fillets of fish with some french fries

can of sardines ? if its a romantic dinner get the ones in mustard!

bake it..... mix lemon and garlic in a butter sauce. i promise she'll like it....hushpuppies are easy to make, but you hafta deep fry it...its not that hard. or just bake some onion rings...dont forget the red or white slaw and some rolls or something.
if that dont work...SAUTE shrimp and mushrooms and cook rice with it. maybe some talapia on the side.

steam a whole fish in a green leafy vegetable like spinach and use a "topping" of fresh garlic, ginger, soy sauce and scallions

Make a salad, fries, deep fried fish in the pan... Ummm, make it a ceasar salad or a spring salad which ever u like, get oily dressing for spring and mayo based dressing for ceasar.
Sounds simple and good to me. :)

You could do a "fish in a bag" and serve with some wild rice and a green veggie like broccoli or asparagus. Don't forget to get lemon for sprinkling the fish and veggies.

Buy some really fresh salmon. Put that onto a baking dish that has some oil or pam on the bottom. Top with some minced garlic, parsley, and pepper. bake at 350 for 15 minutes. While that is cooking, mix some mayo, with lemon juice or lime juice or orange juice and a little more garlic and parsley. Just keep adding a little juice at a time till the mayo is like a sauce. Put the sauce(which is now called aiolli) on a plate and top with the cooked salmon. Some rice and asparagus on the side would be great. Buy a beautiful dessert too and serve that with a wonderful coffee or tea.

here's an idea for little work and yummy vittles:
get three fillets (preskinned and cut) of white fish (i like tilapia or trout or flounder) you can use salmon if you want
lay on square of foil or parchment paper
sprinkle on fresh basil and oregano and minced garlic and a squeeze of lime and a dash of extra virgin olive oil pile on some fresh green beans or your favorite vegetable wrap up into packets making sure airtight and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes at 350F and serve over rice

This is a recipe my brother gave me not knowing I'm not much of a fish eater. My brother and his family love it and my mom was at my brothers when he made it and she absolutely loved it!

Salmon, it's my favorite. Here is a real easy recipe. Preheat your oven to 350. Get some non-stick foil. Put the fish in the foil. Chop up cubes of butter (if health conscience, extra virgin olive oil). Use the lemon & pepper seasoning or fresh lemons with gowned pepper. If you want put some garlic in it (unless you plan on kissing after dinner). Grab the two ends of the foil that is long ways and fold it down till it is tight. Fold each corner (so juice doesn’t leak out) then fold up the two ends of foil. Put it on a cookie sheet so incase it does leek out.

Place in the oven for 20 - 25 Minuets. When done, take out of oven and let it set for about 15 more minuets. Unfold and enjoy. You've save yourself clean up time.

Now if you don't mind taking a little more time, take the Salmon (raw) and turn up the heat on a skillet all the way and wait till it's at it's hottest. Sear top and bottom to lock in the flavor and juice. Make sure there is olive oil or butter in the pan before hand. (Do this step 1st then put it in the foil and prepare with instructions above.)

If your looking for a really good side dish. Get some green beans (canned or fresh). Drain them, and put in a skillet with heat all the way up. But first put in some butter or olive oil. Now season it with Montreal Chicken Seasoning (it won't taste like chicken). Also, garlic tastes really good with it also but don't put it in since you'll be getting romantic with your girl. Put some Mrs. Dash table blend in as well.

Cook the green beans very well, but don't stir to much. Let it get a little crispy. Stir about every 6 Min. Keep on pan for about 15 min. It will be worth it.

I suggest you cook all this a few days before so if you mess up by any chance you'll know what to do the next time. I you have to do it a few days before because your house will smell like salmon and that won't be good. Make sure you buy some good smelling candles also to take away from the fishy smell.

Hope this works for you and sorry it's so long. Just wanted to walk you through everything so you wouldn't mess up. Witch you won't.

Enjoy!!!

I like to cook tuna steaks on the grill - just salt and pepper and a bit of olive oil. Then serve with a 'relish' of chopped tomato, onion, garlic and either fresh basil or cilantro, salt and pepper.

Serve some crusty bread and a salad or grilled veggies. YUM
