Coconut husk?!
Answers: I have a coconut tree. When it falls to the ground the hard shell (husk) that covers the actual coconut is what I am trying to remove. Are there any easy ways to get that thing off?
Natives usually use a machete or similar heavy chopping knife which has more cutting power due to its weight. You have to be really careful if you're inexperienced, it's easy to have the machete slip off the coconut at an angle & seriously injure yourself. The locals in tropical countries make it look so easy & fast though. Maybe it might be possible to use some kind of powered tool like electric knife, power saw etc but I think the crucial point is to get a good grip to prevent the tool slipping off the coconut.

You will need something like a machete, it is very tough and fibrous to remove the outer greenish husk. I have seen people hack away the husk with large machetes. Then you will see the familiar brown coconut inside:
