How do I cook eggs or pancakes in a stainless steel frying pan?!


Question: I have cuisinart chef's classic stainless steel frying pans and a glass top electric stove.

Eggs and Pancakes seem to stick even with spray or oil added.

i have the same set and ive found it impossible. you can buy a good non stick pan for around $30. its much easier than fighting w/ stainless.

My guess is that you did not season the pan before use. Try using low heat and patients....

You can't season stainless- great pans, but best for stir frys and skillet recipes. Pancakes need a non stick surface- does not have o be pricey mist grocery stores carry Rival brand skillets, buy one and you will be amazed how easy!

Non stick is the way to go for good eggs and pancakes.

You should heat the pan and oil first and when hot, add whatever your cooking to the hot oil. Be sure to have enough oil, I usually coat the pan with about 2 or 3 tablespoons for pancakes and 1/4 cup for eggs. After cooking a few minutes lift food with a spatula. This will help food from sticking.
