What's your idea of good ole home cooking?!


Question: there are lots of home cooking that I grew up with:

pinto beans and cornbread, fried potatoes and some form of meat whether it was fried tenderloin, steak or deer meat

hot dogs and sauerkraut; any type of greens (salad, mustard, turnip), fried fat back

october beans, yellow eyed beans, green beans, lima beans...

mashed potatoes..

fried chicken and dumplings

ham, bbq ribs or chicken

fried or boiled cabbage

My cooking, everything is made from scratch.

anything that mommy's makin

A roast chicken, sweet potatoes, spinach with garlic, cranberry sauce, and a loaf of fresh bread.

There's lasagna in the oven, the sweet yeast dough is rising for sticky buns and the salad fixings are in the fridge so anyone who's hungry has a feast ahead for dinner.

peeling ,boiling,baking,and frying is my idea of good ole home cooking

Green Chile chicken enchiladas, Mexican Rice, re-fried beans and a nice cold beer to drink.

Biscuits & Gravy
Blackeyed Peas made with hamhocks, served with sweet cornbread
Chicken & Dumplings
Fried Chicken, served with mashed potatoes & gravy
Peach Cobbler

Almost anything meaty in the crock pot! mmm.....pot roast!

everything made from scratch. maybe a mini thanksgiving dinner which would include homemade;
mash potatoes
garlic bread
stuffing
peas
mini turkey, or turkey strips that wouldn't take too long.
and gravy.

or perhaps a homemade spaghetti sauce, or creame of chicken and wild rice soup.

pound cakes
lemonade
sweet tea

Sunday pot roast with carrots and potatoes and brown gravy... along with buttermilk biscuits. Cream of coconut pie... then it's naptime.. if a football game isn't on !

Everything made from scratch- like Mom & Grandma
used to do. mmmmmm!
