Is " coconut cake " a southern food?!


Question: Yes, I believe so. Not that yankees wouldn't make or eat one, but it rogiinated in the south, I think, w/ hand-grating the exotic coconuts!

Not that I know of, but it is becoming very popular in the south and with southern baking chef's.

I believe that coconut cake is considered a southern food but I grew up eating all my life and I am from north of Chicago near the Wisconsin state line.

hardly...since coconut's only grow in the TROPICS ! The 'south' is 250 miles north of Florida...and that's southern Georgia ( using West Palm Beach as a point of reference)
