The curry also has sweet potato in it but Im not sure if this adds anything to it??? Also I think I ned one more thing to serve on the plate as well as the pie and spinach but think mash would be wrong as I have potato in the pie? Shpuld I take the potato out anf do it as a side instead?

Keep the potato in the pie-it will definately add to the dishes flavour and consistancy. Another dish is a good idea-ideally you will contrast the colors. So if the pie is say...beige/pastry color, and the spinach is green, try a red dish ie sauteed red peppers (slice thin, toss in olive oil, alittle salt and pepper, and some garlic) . Good luck.

Leave the potatoes in the recipe......

Instead, make something plain to go with it like sauteed yellow crook neck squash.

Boy oh boy, does that sound YUMMY! Is sweet potato the only potato in the curry, or does it contain white potatoes, too? If it only contains sweet potatoes, they're so different from white potatoes, I'd leave them in and go ahead and have the mash with white potatoes and add some garlic, sour cream and/or cream cheese, and cheddar cheese mixed in. Top the mash with shredded cheddar cheese and, bake it for half an hour or so.

I don't think mash would go with the dish.....perhaps some jasmine rice with scallions (green onions) and some sesame oil in in as a side dish?? I think it all sounds great, and you can never miss with rice......

Sounds really good the only thing missing is the drink. Maybe some hot tea or cold with lemon.

have pasta for a change from potatoes or just plain boiled white rice.

Yes it sounds good and its making my mouth water. Maybe a side of rice with a touch of Saffron in it too!

you do not need the sweet potato in the dish but it is a good accompaniment if you dice it small about 1 inch cubes, not too much, then serve with saffron rice and/or half cut roast potato's coated in turmeric an paprika. this works very well.
to coat your potato's mix one tbl spoon of each powder add a little plain yogurt stir till smooth boil potato's till just getting tender let then cool down coat with mixture let it marinate for at least an hour (more is better) then roast with as little oil as possible.
i hope this helps and you have a very pleasant evening.
oh a good wine with this dish is chateau-nuf-Du-pape or a fluerie.
