Cooking a potato in a Toaster Convection Oven?!

Question: I just bought a toaster oven and I want to cook a potato but I am not sure how. Should I just do it how I would if I were putting it in the regular oven with tin foil?

did instructions come with your appliance? many times they have a little cookbook type thing with new appliances. And you don't need foil on a baked potato. If you leave it off, your spud will have a bit of crispy skin, yummy with butter or Ranch dressing. I would poke the potato with a fork so it doesn't burst and bake that baby for 1/2 hour, and check it. You won't know till you try if you can do it or not.

Surely that contraption came w/ an owner's manual and/or a recipe book........

Yes, it is just a smaller oven.

Yes, if you like foil then use it. I like to cook my potato in the microwave for a few minutes (depending on size) then finish it up in the oven for about 15 minutes. I don't like to use foil because I like the skin a little chewy. I love to eat the skin. I do find the convection oven cooks a little quicker. Enjoy.

If it came with a manual it might have some cooking times in it. Yes you can cook it just like you would in a regular oven. Making sure to pierce the potato. You can cook it with the oven setting or use the convection oven. I have a toaster convection oven and it use it for baking all the time but I always cook my potatos in the microwave.

Bake like normal, just smaller:). You may want to check the temperature of your toaster over, but for a potato, which takes so long anyhow, the precise temp won't matter.
