What Shall I Prepare For Sunday Dinner???!

Question: suggestions, please!

Answers: suggestions, please!

Depends on how much trouble you want to go to. Here are some easy recipes:

Tangy Spareribs

5-6 pounds spareribs
1-6oz can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
? tsp garlic powder
Spicy seasoned salt
Pepper

Place spareribs in shallow baking pan, meat side down and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and seasoned salt. Roast at 375 for 30 minutes. Turn ribs, roast another 15 minutes and drain off fat. Combine orange juice, Worcestershire and garlic powder and brush mixture on ribs. Reduce heat to 300. Cover ribs, roast 2 hours or until tender and baste occasionally.

Quick Chicken Casserole

3 cups cooked, chopped chicken or turkey
1-16oz. package frozen broccoli florets, thawed
1-10oz. can cream of chicken soup with ? cup milk
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper
1 ? cups crushed cheese crackers

Combine chicken, broccoli, soup, mayo, and cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Pour into buttered casserole dish and spread cheese crackers over top. Bake uncovered at 350 for 40 minutes or until bubbly.

Here's a comfort food favorite:

Chicken Fried Steak

1-2 pounds tenderized round steak
2 cups flour
2 Tbsp seasoned salt
2 tsp pepper
Vegetable oil

Heat a skillet with ? inch vegetable oil until hot. Mix flour, seasoned salt and pepper together. Put on a plate. Cover serving size pieces of steak with the flour mixture on both sides. Coat well. Cook each side in oil approx. 4 minutes. Remove steak from pan and keep in a warm 250 degree oven.

Gravy:
Drain all but ? cup of the oil. Make sure you keep all the crusty, wonderful bits in the pan. Add ? cup of flour all at once. Stir to mix. Continue stirring and let cook 1 minute. Add 2 cups milk or half and half (depending on how rich you want it to be) all at once. Stir, stir, stir, until it boils and gets thick.

A little more involved, but worth it. Sometimes I like to spend the effort for a great meal:

Manicotti

1 package Hillshire Farm Italian Sausage (Mild)
1 (12 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 can water
salt and pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 box fresh mushrooms, sliced
Filling
1 container ricotta cheese
2-3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 package frozen spinach, chopped or 8 ounces fresh spinach, chopped fine
1 egg
salt and pepper
1 box manicotti, boil as directed on package

Squeeze out of casing into hot kettle.
Brown.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste and water.
Add salt, pepper, garlic powder and oregano.
Put mushrooms in 30 minutes before preparing dish.
Stuff Manicotti with cheese mixture.
Put some sauce on the bottom of 9 x 13 pan.
Place Manicotti in rows so they're not touching each other.
Pour remaining sauce on top.
Top with some Mozzarella.
Put in oven at 350F degrees until it bubbles.

Crockpot is nice because it makes the house smell wonderful all day:

This is so easy, and you can't believe how tasty!

Swiss Steak
1 round steak
2 cans stewed tomatoes
Egg noodles, cooked.

Sear the steak on both sides.
Put in crock pot and sprinkle with a good seasoned salt.
Add the two cans of tomatoes.
Cook all day (8 hours or so).
Serve over cooked and buttered egg noodles.
Yummy!

CROCK POT ENCHILADAS
1 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1 sm. can chilies
1 sm. can mild enchilada sauce
1 can golden mushroom soup, undiluted
1 can cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 can cream of celery soup, undiluted
1 lg. pkg. Dorito chips
Brown hamburger and chopped onion, pour off grease. Put all ingredients in crock pot except Dorito chips. Mix and cook low 4 to 6 hours. Last 15 minutes before you are ready to eat, add Dorito chips and stir.

These are so easy and wonderful. You can’t believe it!

BBQ Ribs

Country Style Ribs
Onion
Bottled BBQ Sauce (any kind you like)

Sear ribs on all sides to seal in juices. Place in crock pot. Cover with sliced onions and BBQ sauce. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Yummy!!!

Serve with baked beans, cornbread…and this salad is great:

Caesar Coleslaw

1 pkg pre-made coleslaw
1/4-1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese
1/2 pkg caesar croutons
1 bottle creamy caesar dressing

Toss first three ingredients together. Add enough dressing to coat. It's even good the next day!

Hope one or more helps!

Why a roast, of course, with roasted tats, some baby green peas and Yorkshire puds.

since you are starting early.how about home made bread, and chili.

Lets see well first, tell me how the weather is where you are located!

I'm making meatloaf, baked potatoes, creamed corn & tossed salad.

On Sundays I always cook something that takes allot of time, because during week I don't have time. So I suggest pot roast, barbecue spare ribs, chicken pie(with the biscuit on top),stuffed turkey with all the fixings, baked ham with pineapple, and roast chicken. I hope this helps you find something to cook for Sunday dinner. Bon Appetite !

May I suggest meatloaf, generously covered with ketchup. Follow that with some barbequed baked beans, mashed potatoes, generously covered with a dark gravy, and along with that I suggest you have broccoli, generously covered with cheese sauce. Also, you should include some wheat rolls, and cold sweet ice tea with lemon to wash all that down. For dessert, I suggest you have chocolate chocolate chip ice cream, generously covered with chocolate syrup. ENJOY! :)

I am thinking about corn & potato chowder, biscuits, and a salad!
