What side dishes do you like to make with pasta?!

Question: Here are two favorites:

Homemade garlic bread:

1 cube real butter
3-4 cloves garlic, minced

Saute together about 5 minutes.
Spread on fresh sliced french bread with a pastry brush. Heat under the broiler until light brown. Yummy!!

Caesar Coleslaw

1 pkg pre-made coleslaw
1/4-1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese
1/2 pkg caesar croutons
1 bottle creamy caesar dressing

Toss first three ingredients together. Add enough dressing to coat. It's even good the next day!

salad garlic bread

I always make a salad. Garlic bread too.

mixed veggies

Salad or steamed veggies. If I want to go all out, I'll slice and bake an avocado with a creamy Parmesan sauce to top it off. Yum!

Broiled asparagus. Drizzle asparagus with olive oil, balsamic, sea salt, and pepper. Put under a hi broiler for about 10 - 15 minutes. Always goes well with pasta! :-)

Normally just a great salad (with black olives, grape tomatoes, sweet banana pepper slices, red onion tossed with zesty Italian dressing) and warm garlic bread. But If I need to make the meal go the extra mile, sautee yellow and green summer squash (zucchini), diced eggplant and fesh mushrooms sprinkled with a dried Italian seasoning. Sprinkle this with fresh grated parmesan cheese, cover for a minute to allow the cheese to melt just slightly.
WOM Menotyou: the baked avocado with parmesan dressing sounds wonderful! I'm going to try it!

My husband calls it "special bread."
Regular sliced white bread spread with butter, sprinkle on Garlic powder and parmesan cheese and a little oregano. Broile just a couple of minutes til the cheese is bibbly and brown.

Garlic Bread & side salad.

just salad and maybe garlic bread, but most of the time when I have pasta, I don't have anything else. Pasta is a heavy dish.
