About 5 loaves?...well ,enough to make around 70 small sandwiches . I think that should be enough. Good luck with the baby shower!

Don't make full sized sandwiches, just make little tea sandwiches using those little loaves of bread.

To be safe, get three loaves, and if you run out, you run out, don't worry about it. It sounds like there'll be lots of other food too.

It depends on how many slices of bread are in the loaves you use. Not all loaves have the same number of slices. I'd make one sandwich (2 slices of bread), cut in smaller pieces with the crust removed, for each guest, so count on 60 slices of bread.

EDITED: I just found this:
Estimate for Quantity Buying
BREAD for sandwiches

1 pound loaf white bread yields 17 - 5/8 inch thick slices without end crusts.

1 pound loaf white bread (thin slices) yields 23 1/2-inch thick slices without end crusts.

2 pound loaf white bread (large) yields 28 - 1/2 inch thick slices without end crusts.

1 pound loaf whole wheat bread (large) yields 16 - 5/8-inch slices without end crusts.

1 pound loaf rye bread yields 19 - 5/8 inch thick slices without end crusts.

i would make 6 or 7 i always rather have extra food then not enough good luck have fun

Just do a couple of platefuls. Cut into small. Four from two slices together.
Use both white and brown bread.
Fill with Scrambled egg and Mayonnaise : Creamed Cheese & lettuce : Salmon creamed :
Things like that.
You will be surprised the people just like to pick at things.

depending whether it's mostly guys or gals.. HUGE difference between them hahahah

so the mean is... around 2 slices per person and cut them into 4 little triangles with a little tooth picks if you're using cold cuts and cheese, egg salad and tuna salad stick well
so everybody will have around 4 little triangles give or take and lots of salad!! hmmm

oh and for your questions.. around 4 loaves then cos each one has around 15 if it's of regular cut
