How to season ground beef for burritos?!

Question: I love a good burrito, but they never taste the same at home! What do you season your ground beef with? I've tried the Taco Bell seasoning packet and don't really like it.

Something more then salt and pepper...thanks!

Cumin is the taste that you most associate with Mexican food. So try some cumin, chili powder and red pepper flakes (for spiciness) plus maybe onions and garlic. This is what I put in my tortilla soup and it tastes like I think Mexican food should. You also have to use more than you would think!

Go to your spice cabinet and pick out anything that looks mexican-y. Go nuts with the chili powder and pepper flakes. Experiment and see what sort of combinations you like.

MY HUSBAND COOKS THE SEASONING WITH THE MEAT THEN HE DRAINS THE GREASE OFF IT HE SAYS IT LEAVES MORE FLAVOR, BUT I CANT EAT IT LIKE THIS, THERE'S TOO MUCH GREASE LEFT, I DRAIN THE MEAT 3 MINUTES THEN ADD SEASONING.

We use chil powder, whole cumin seed and cumin powder. Add just a little water to the mix after the spices have been cooked for a minute or so. We also put fresh garlic and onion in it.

use beef fajita seasoning packet or shaker-bottle

I use Shilling Hot Taco Seasoning. They don't taste the same as out, but I like them also.
