Both starters sound excellent to me, so if your that stuck why not do a sharing starter platter? Cover your platter with some mixed lettuce leaves and put your options on top, then garnish. Pop in middle of table and let them help their self

Gives your guests a choice, and will add to the wow factor of whats sounding like a bloody good meal.

Hope this helps, n good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2

i would choose the mushroom starter as it seems a bit lighter than the other!!!good luck!!

Definitely the fritters, they are a much better fit with the main course.

go w/ #2 , mushrooms are great but it's not to often you can get good fritters . personnally i'd like to have both.

they both sound lovely but I would go with choice 2 as it doesn't sound as filling and you don't want to be to full for that yummy dessert.

I would choose the first starter

mmmm mushrooms sounds good
any room 4 a little 1 extra

Since you're serving pastry in your main course and sponge cake for dessert, it's best to go wit the field mushrooms, and maybe omit the cheese topping...have fun. Sounds great.

hmm you are making me feel soooooo hungry.

definately the mushrooms, they sound wonderful.

No 1 is my choice........

All sounds lovely though!!

wow,that sounds lovely,id pick the mushrooms,great menu.

Crispy sweetcorn and spring onion fritters with a sweet chilli dipping sauce- my mouth is watering just reading about them. Plus, I love the sweetness the onions take on with the sweet/spicy/tanginess of the chilli sauce.

I'd go with the mushroom, as the main course is pastry a battered dish might be a bit too heavy, the mushroom will offer a lighter and healthier option so your guests are not too full for the main event!!

ur choice is good as both r appropriate according 2 the main dish...........but i feel tat the mushrooms wud be a better choice rather than the fritters cuz sweetcorn is not a very important ingredient of the thai..they dont use much of sweetcorn in thai cuisine though the sweet chilli dipping sauce is rather a good 1

Number 2 as it sounds more ethnic and will go well with your Thai influenced main.

oh I like choice #2

The 1st one for sure. Otherwise I think the meal would be a bit heavy: you have rich pastry for main, and a sponge for pud.

I think something a little fresher and lighter, like mushrooms, for starter would taste better although maybe omit the chilli since the main will be spciy (i assume), maybe use fresh ginger instead, otherwise your guests might not feel they have enough room left for the fab pudding!

Sounds yummy though and I'm feeling a little hungry now.....
