Is It Really Better Than Sex? Cake - thanks to Paula Dean

1 (18.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare
1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 (3.4-ounce) box French vanilla pudding, plus ingredients to prepare
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup flaked, sweetened toasted coconut

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare yellow cake mix as directed using a greased 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. While cake is baking, combine the pineapple and 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Remove cake from oven and using a fork, pierce holes into cake. Pour pineapple mixture over hot cake and set aside.

Prepare pudding according to package directions. Spread pudding over cake and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. Whip heavy cream and remaining sugar until stiff. Cover top of cake with whipped cream and sprinkle toasted coconut on top.

Try this. Get a deep cake pan and line the bottom and sides with pound cake. in a separate bowl put ricotta. Get jars or cans of fruit salad, drain and place on paper towels, add fruit salad to the ricotta as well as small chocolate chips. Pour the mix into the cake pan. Take slices of pineapple rings and cover the top of the cake and put pitless cherries in the holes of the pin apple. Put cake in the fridge until it is firm. You will love it!

I'm planning to make a Lady Baltimore Cake pretty soon.

You could make an angel food cake.

Lemon cake is always a nice change. Sponge cake? Perhaps a roulade, with a lovely chocolate filling, and shavings on top.

Oh, and for the other posters- buying a cake mix and putting stuff in it isn't a "recipe."

I love ice cream cake, it's different and really not that hard to make. So first find a simple pound cake recipe, you can buy a boxed cake mix or make it from scratch whichever you prefer, then take the pound-cake and slice it 3 times horizontally ( be sure to put it in the freezer first so it is hard but soft enough to get your knife through.)
As for the ice cream, take your favorite ice cream and allow it to soften on the counter for about 20 minutes, or less, judge it, it should be frozen still but soft. Spread ice cream on one side of pound cake then place next layer on and spread and continue until you run out of cake. As for icing? Why not use the rest of your ice cream, allow it to soften a bit more and then take baby chocolate chips, almonds, walnuts, marshmallows, M&Ms the list is endless and put on top of the ice cream, you can put the ice cream just on top or all around if you like, you can even drizzle with a little carmel or chocolate sauce, then pop in the freezer and allow to harden back up for about an hour or 2 then serve, just be sure to use a knife with some hot water to make slicing easier!! ( Helpful Hint: I love to make my own ice cream flavors, it adds a nice touch and is less expensive. So get regular chocolate or vanilla ice cream, you could even do a mix of both if you like, then add your favorite ingredients, candy bars, nuts, marshmallows, M&M's, sprinkles, chunks of brownies, once again the combos are endless!) This cake is amazing, you'll LOVE it I promise!! Good Luck and Happy Feasting!!!
