Cooking question - If you took a zip lock bag and put some olive oil in it and then put sliced potates and?!
Answers: shook them up and put them on a cookie sheet and baked them, would they be as fattening as regular french fries?
They would be much better for you than french fries. Olive oil is a healthy fat in moderation and you don't need much to coat potatoes. I would throw some seasonings on them to mix it up a bit though - you could go with spicy wedges or some parmesan savory wedges. Yum!
no way, just be careful how much oil.....just a tiny bit.
GREAT IDEA btw...;)
Just put a tiny bit of oil on them, and add some spices (pepper, salt, rosemary, etc.) and bake them. Yummy!
No, that's how I make them too. You dont' need much oil either and because they are baked and not deep fried they are no where near as fattening.
This is a great way to make oven baked "french fries"! Add a little garlic powder, salt and pepper for flavor. Just don't use a lot of oil or they will turn out greasy.
I just cut the potatoes and lay them on the cookie sheet drizzle olive oil on them slat and pepper then take my hands and toss to coat a little goes a long way
oops, SALT
no ... and olive oil is very healthy for you. Another option is to slice the potatoes like French fries, and spray them with olive oil Pam, salt them and bake them....
I do that (I use a bowl, not a bag) with sweet potatoes, and they are one of my favs. And VERY healthy
Nope: I do it all the time.... another suggestion is using dry ranch dip mix. Wet the potatoes then put them in a bag with the mix and shake... then spread on a oiled cookie sheet. Almost fat free..
Sounds great! Just make sure your light on the oil.
I have taken frozen french fries from the store, put them out on a cookie sheet, drizzled vegetable oil on them, baked them until done (stirring occaisionally)...and they taste good. But I have never been able to do it from raw potatoes myself and have it taste the same. I think they put flavoring on them or something.
No, nowhere near as fattening. You can buy this thing I think it is called misto. It is a hand pump spray bottle that works like Pam, but without the preservatives. I put my own oils in it and use them, I have one for olive, and one for vegetable. You save tons of fat by using them in baked fries, and also when you are browning a piece of meat. I love the baked fries, I like to add a packet of onion soup mix to mine and toss with 1tbsp water, then put in pan, spray and bake. They smell like heaven, and taste better than most restaurant potatoes I have had!
No it will not be as fatting as french fries. You can also put alittle of salt on them so they can have a little of taste.
No way! They'd be so much more healthier! Baking is usually always much healthier than frying because the potato takes in oil during the process.
