What are some good things to do with avocado?!

Question: I've decided I'm going to start liking avocado (LOL) because they are so good for you and they are a safe food for my medical condition. Please note that I can't eat high fat (I realize avocadoes have some fat) and I cannot eat dairy. Thanks!

Believe it or not, they are GREAT served with peeled grapefruit sections arranged on a plate with avocado wedges and drizzled with French or Catalina salad dressing. Really refreshing.

Guacamole. "nuff said"

coarsely diced and sprinkled onto chicken salad

sliced on top of scrambled eggs

sliced and stuffed into a turkey sandwich with bean sprouts

sprinkled with salt and pepper and eaten over the kitchen sink!

Avocado oxidizes after it is peeled/sliced---it turns brown. Sprinkle with lemon juice unless you plan to eat it immediately.

put some olive oil and a bit of vinegar on it, and its very nice, or mash it up and eat it in a sandwich!

Quacamole is always good. Google some recipies.

guacamole! :)

Slice up avacado put on bread and sprinkle with salt, to eat as a sandwich.

Add it to your salads.

Make guacamole dip.

Eat half alone with some salt.

make guacamole

eat sliced on salad

eat sliced on white, french or italian bread

eat sliced with rice and beans

eat sliced on whole rain bread, lettuce, tomato and sliver of onion

eat plain

eat with tomato soup

Avocado sandwiches are great.

Slice it and put it on a burger or sandwich.

Guacamole, use as a topping for any sandwich (I especially like them on turkey sandwiches), or just
eat them plain, with just a little salt and pepper. You can sprinkle some lemon juice on them to keep them from turning brown.

A couple of things I do with avocado.

1. Guacomole - mash up some avocado with some garlic, salt, red onion and a bit of lime. It's great on fajitas, tacos, hamburgers, chicken and pretty much anything else you can think of.

2. 'California' your food with it! - I slice it up and add it to omelets with some tomatoes, green onion, mushrooms and whatever else I want in there. I also put it on hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and my kids love it mixed in a bean burrito with cheese and sour cream.

Ohhhhh........I just LOVE avocados. You can make guacamole out of them. Or just slice them and eat them. You can slice them and put them on sandwiches. Or cut them up and put them on salads.

Thanks for the reminder....I'm putting them on my shopping list now.

Avocado on hamburger is excellent. Its also great in fajitas, or made into guac for tacos/burritos or bagels.

1. Mash it, spread it on a toasted english muffin or good bread, and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper.

2. Heat a can of black beans. Saute some sliced onions and peppers. Stir in fresh salsa. Place beans, veggies, mashed or sliced avocado, and jack cheese on a warm tortilla and roll up.

3. Slice and add to salads.

i don't know if you'll like this, haven't heard of this combination in the western world. in my country we add sugar to the fruit and mash it up a bit and eat it as dessert. you can cut the fruit in half (not lengthwise) so u get two bowl shaped pieces (remove the seed) and you can do the mixing in the fruit itself without having to scoop the pulp out, the skin acts as a cup. and you can serve it as it is...looks cute. some people scoop the pulp out and blend it to a smooth creamy consistency in a blender.

then again adding sugar is not exactly healthy! :)

How about guacamole?Mash avocado well with lots of black pepper & chillies to taste,or chopped, deseeded tomatoes if you don't like chillies!Serve on crackers or crispbreads.

I like Um on Hamburgers, and sandwiches are good too.

Slice and put atop a beef burger, or a grilled portobella burger.
