Getting rid of detergent smells on silicone baking tray.?!

Question: I bought a silicone brownie tray (which works fabulously!) and on using it for the second time the brownies had a slight tinge of dishwashing detergent 'taste' to the bottom of them.
Anyone know a way to ensure my tray is clean but not soapy?

i had the same problem with mine - I used bicarbinate of soda with a squeeze of lemon juice and water and mixed it into a paste then scrubbed it onto the slicone and then rinsed off. Its fine now - hope this helps and happy baking

you should try putting a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and water in a wet paste form and heating it for a few minutes then just rinse off with water and dry with a paper towel.
hope that helps.

Try sodium bicarbonate( Baking Soda)

try cleaning it with baking soda

yep try the bicarb, I had the same prob. All ok now and I didn't dishwash it again, just handwashed it.

Do not use detergent in washing your cooking utensils and dishes. I use organic liquid diswashing "Dish Drop" to remove grease of butter and wash it with warm water afterwards.

vanilla essence:o) Just add 1/2 cup water and 1 tspn vanilla essence and apply. Leave for 10 minutes. Rinse:o)
