If you only had $20 to last for 1 week, JUST GROCERIES and you had 4 adults to feed, what would you make?!

Question: Tell me what you would buy at the store and the recipes you'd make for the week so everyone could be fully satisfied with supper for the week.

Answers: Tell me what you would buy at the store and the recipes you'd make for the week so everyone could be fully satisfied with supper for the week.

Buy a 2lb bag of rice, a 4lb bag of chicken leg quarters, 1lb ground turkey, bag frozen peas & carrots, 2 boxes store brand mac n cheese, cheapest box of salt, parkay quarters spread, large can diced tomatoes, head of garlic, cheap loaf of bread, store brand pork n beans

cut the legs off the thighs from the chicken. boil the thighs in 6 cups of water with 1TBS salt & 2 cloves crushed garlic, remove meat from thigh bones, cut in pieces. into the water, add 4 cups of rice, let come to boil, reduce heat, simmer til done, add 2 cups peas & carrots & chicken, stir & cover.turn off heat. chicken & rice w/loaf bread spread with parkay. use 1/2 pkg of ground turkey to make turkey helper w/the mac n cheese, another night, chicken legs with garlic &1/2 can of the tomatoes over white rice, another night cook the rest of the turkey in tomatoes, like sloppy joe sauce over sliced bread with pork n beans

Lots of beans, cornbread, pasta, rice and meat sauces.

well my dad gets laid of in the winter and when I was in school my mom made pancakes

The best I can think of are easy make big things like chili (can be made with no meat) and pastas.

If you only have twenty dollars maybe being fussy about eating leftovers isnt the answer. soup, chili, pasta dishes are going to go the furthest but.... you would have to eat them more than once. ramen noodles are the cheapest thing to eat and they come in lots of flavors. Rice and ramen? get a better paying job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

four adults and only twenty dollars????????????????

I'd buy ground meat, a few big cans of tomatoes, tons of beans, onions, and pasta, and make big pots of chili and spaghetti sauce.

I was in this very predicament a few weeks ago. I had $35.00 and ten days until pay day. It was certainly a challenge but we got through:

Raw fruit & vegetables

Juiced fruit & vegetables (500ml makes a satisfying breakfast)

Steamed potato plain

Steamed potato with avocado

Steamed potato with baked beans

Baked beans on toast

Noodles plain

Noodles with vegetables

Salad Sandwiches

Crackers with avocado & tomato

Rice plain

Rice with vegetables

Rice with mixed beans

Rice with vegetables & mixed beans

Soup (homemade) potato & vegetable

Soup (homemade) tomato & lentil

Lentil stew plain

Lentil stew with potato & vegetable

Dinner leftovers were eaten for lunch the next day.

.

Buy hamburger, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, potatoes, eggs, mac and cheese, bread, cheese.
1. Spaghetti and garlic bread
2. hamburgers and baked potatoes
3. mac cheese hamburger hotdish
4. hamburger egg omelet and toast
5. fried eggs, hashbrowns (shredded potatoes), and toast
6. grilled cheese sandwiches
7. hamburger and cheese omelet

a whole package of cup noodles

What about the other meals? To feed 4 for 7 days I would buy a box of pepper and salt, and the rest in navy beans. Don't throw anything out. You may get tired of it, but it beats starvation all to hell.
