How can I cook a hot dog in the oven?!
Answers: I don't like how they taste boiled. Is there a way I can use the oven? I don't have a cookie sheet so I plan on using a cupcake pan.
They can be broiled or, the way I prefer is sliced and fried.
slap it under the broiler. It won't take long at all, so watch it closely. keeps the juices, and tastes great, kinda like a campfire cookout!
good question
Use it as a grill
cupcake pan??? just use the bbq
375 degrees for about 10 minutes or 15 minutes should do it. Just keep an eye on it, when it starts to brown pull it out. Just preheat the oven before you put it in. Just cut it in half and put each half in one of the cupcake holders. It should do the job for you. After 10 minutes just watch it to make sure it doesn't burn. Ovens tend to very on cooking time and temp. If your is hotter it won't take as long.
Like everyone else is saying, the broiler is a good idea if you have one. Our BBQ is charcoal only, but that's a good idea too if you can do that. But it's whatever you have to work with.
And how exactly would you use a cup cake pan. You can make a sorta of sheet out of many layer of tin foil and put it in the oven. Other then that, you can boil them in a put of water or stick them in the microwave. Remember though, don't keep them in the microwave too long or they will get hard and the ends start to split. Hope that helps. Good luck!
It is such a waste of electricity or gas to cook hotdogs in the oven. Cook themin a pan on top of the stove, with or without a few drops of oil. Keep shaking the pan so the hotdogs will roll while cooking, so all sides cook evenly.
you can put it in the microwave if it has been fully cooked ...put it in for like 30 -45 seconds
Did you cook your hot dog? Hope it was delicious. I cook mine in some crescent roll dough. All I do is use Pillsbury crescent roll and place them in the oven as directed. You can still use the cupcake pan.
Consider microwaving them. Wrap in paper towel and nuke for 1 min. If you want a warm bun, nuke for 50 seconds, take out, put in bun, rewrap in paper towel and nuke for 10 seconds. The oven will just make them taste bad.
Why not just line your stove pan with foil, turn the burner up to high, spear the hot dog with a long carving fork, and roast it like you would at a wiener roast.
Hot dogs are fine boiled.
I know a lot of people wrap them in parchment paper or wax paper and microwave them for a minute or so, too.
Good luck and bon appetite!
I like to deep fry them in oil. It only takes a few minutes and they are perfect every time.
i would put foil over the pan and put it under the broiler..they only take a few minutes so you have to watch them closely.
I usually just fry them on a pan, but i do use my oven sometimes when i'm lazy. Don't put them in there for too long or it would burst open and lose it's taste. Keep it moderately hot too. ;-)
