If you put a hard boiled egg (without shell) in the microwave will it explode or anything?!

Question: I have a half dozen hard boiled eggs that are just a bit under done (the yolks aren't completely hard). I made them yesterday and they are in the fridge now.

Anyway I can cook them a little bit more? I thought maybe if I peeled one and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds...

No problem. It wont explode. Just give it about 10 seconds at a time. Remove the shell.

The yolk in the center of a microwave-heated whole egg does have the potential to explode. Do not nuke whole eggs - in or out of the shell. Place in a pot of already boiled water - take off the heat and allow to rest for 10 mins. - you'll be good to go! Report It

  • Yes, but takes a higher power microwave and or a longer heat time. Try it and see.

yes I tried it before sure it will explode with or without the peel, try to boil it with water to re-heat if you want.

you can put them without the sheel and just will cook. Dont worry, just put a minute in a plate

Don't. You will lose your microwave and the girlfriend.

Try to reboil the eggs.in water.
