Foil packets are nice when cooking for one....
lay out a piece of foil add 2 or 3 chicken tenderloins ,top with a few slices of onion,,,3 broccoli spears...sliced carrots. season with s&p a dab of butter or margarine.fold foil shut tightly.

you can do this with most any meat....or fish....
bake at 350 ....for chicken breast fish or pork loin 1/2 hour... for whole thighs 1 hour....the great part is the easy clean up.

scout the net for "cooking for one or two". you'll get a ton of ideas.

do the Italian pasta in the bag in the freezer section of the store

If you like pasta - here is an easy recipe for you (Pasta Fagioli):

- fry garlic and onion with olive oil
- add 1 can of red kidney beans with a 1/2 can of water
- add black pepper to taste
- cook until a boil and beans have softened a bit

...while (or before the above is fully cooked) you can:

- cook up pasta noodles
- drain the noodles
- add your kidney beans (above) and enjoy

How about spagetti or a nice hamburger casserole made with noodles, hamburger, tomatoes and cheese. You add any spices you like and onion, mushrooms, olives, etc. that souonds good to you! Or take frozen mixed veggies and add a little asian spice with a little meat of your choice and noodles (or not), with a little peanut butter if you like. Or just toss a little rosemary and/or thyme on a chicken breast and bake it,then eat a veggie with it and your still easy and good!!!

Well, I could give you lots of recipe ideas, but everyone else will, so why not take a cooking class? In addition to being able to feed yourself, getting good at cooking is a sure way to impress that special someone when you finally meet that person and in the meantime, you'll have fun and meet a lot of new people.

Places to find out about cooking classes: Upscale restaurants offer them quite often, county extension offices sometimes offer them, continuing education through your local public schools offer them all the time.

I am a single guy, and, except on a date, I rarely eat anywhere but home. I make large quantities of chili, soups, pasta dishes , etc. and sometimes freeze leftovers (planned overs), sometimes eat the same thing several times during the week. On Sundays I generally try to make a bulk dish like those above so I don't have to come home from work and cook, just re-heat.

Keep a bag of salad mix on hand for a quick salad once in a while. you can add onion, tomatoes, beans, etc, for variety and speed. And it never hurts to keep some frozen chicken breasts or tenderloin steaks in the freezer, for indoor or outdoor grilling.

Try to stay away from pre-packaged foods, like Hamburger Helper, that kind of stuff, not good for you and don't taste expecially good either, You can do much better yourself, even if you are just learning.

check out the recipie book "Company's coming Rookie cookbook" It is very good and easy to follow. It has really good recipies that are not expensive and are decent.

Well try my stuffed pork tenderloin. It is fairly cheap and it will impress the ladies as well. They will think you are a master in the Kitchen. go buy pork tenderloin, and some veggies and some bacon.

This is what you will need.

1 pack of pork
1 bushel of cilantro
mushrooms
green olives
1 package of apple bacon (or an other kind of flavored bacon)
onion
garlic

You should be set.

Take your pork and cut it in half if it don't come with 2 pieces.
saute your veggies together with butter.
Set oven to 375.
Take your pork and grill the outsides on high heat for about 30 sec on each side. Then take the biggest piece for the bottom and add all grilled veggies on it. The top it off with the other piece. Then wrap the pork in bacon. To keep in together, put some toothpicks in it. take your backing dish and line a little bit with some water, just enough to fill bottom. if you have a rack, set the pork on it and cover the whole thing with tin foil. if not, just set in water and wrap. Cook for about 30 Min's. Then uncover and flip the pork then finish cooking for about 15-20 min later. should be done, if not. Just cook a little longer. It tastes great and your "guest" will be surprised.

There is this recipe i heard of called a girlfriend. If you cant find that one go eat at your mom's house.
