Buy a slow cooker. You can make lots of easy meals with them. Pot Roast, Chili, Stew...Some other easy meals are spaghetti, bbq chicken, chicken fried rice, homemade pizza.

I get some of my recipes from these sites:

Good luck!

Most brain dead thing in the world, and also one of the best is sausage and peppers. Buy some italian sausage, slice up some onions and peppers and cook the who thing with very little oil on a very low flame until the sausage is cooked and the onions and peppers are really soft.

Well you might try buying a Better Homes and Garden cook book, and a Rachael Ray cook book, they have easy, good, and less expensive recipes. Try a breaded chicken. Crush some cornflakes, and mix it with dry parsley, salt, pepper, and crushed red peppers, then get some chicken and put some olive oil on it, and then smother it in a beated egg then put it in the cornflake mix. Bake at like 375 for 30 or 40 minutes, serve it with a salad, corn, fruit, some kind of side.

Buy frozen chicken breasts. You can pull one out at a time and cook it. Steaks are great to have on hand. Purchase pieces of fish too! If you have a BBQ it makes it great for cooking. Or you can get one of the countertop grills. Make sure to purchase fresh veggies as opposed to canned...they are much better. They are super easy to steam and taste great. Use different seasonings, try them to see which you like the best.

spaghetti, hamburgers, chicken just about anything can be easy if you follow a recipe.
I would recommend going to google and searching for fast and easy dinner recipes. There are a lot of websites that have a ton.

and many more

The best way to get started is to go to the library and get some books. If not start with some pork, beef, lamp chops, saute them with salt and pepper, take it out of the pan, add some onions and saute and put on top of it. Make a salad for a side and some bread if you like. If you want to make fish, pan fry some fish (again with salt and pepper) once taken off the pan, saute some garlic, some chopped tomatoes (can will be ok) add some wine and simmer it down and add some butter at the end and some herbs like parsley etc.

Yes, eating out is not only expensive but can be unhealthy too, nothing like making some food at home and enjoying what you turn out.

Its not hard, its a matter of wanting to do it ! Enjoy !

Slow Cooker/Crock Pot...you can make just about anything.
Bread Machine-enjoy eating a fresh loaf of bread with what you cook!
Get some cook books (don't just buy ANY one, look at some either at the library or at the book store and find the one that seems like your style). You better get some kitchen tools also if you don't have them!
Frozen Chicken Breast-you can always whip something up with them expecially with a can of soup (trust me!).
Also, this might help you meet someone your interested in, why not go to one of those places that "help" you make a couple meals and show you how, etc. That could be fun!

Single, huh? Get thee to your local library, son, and check out some "Cooking for one" cook books. Regular cookbook books usually only feature recipes for family size meals, and unless you're a very big eater or don't mind eating the same thing 4 nights in a row, you'll end up throwing a lot of food away. Which is money wasted.
Scan copies of the recipes you like and keep them in a notebook. Or go to a book store and buy a "Cooking for one" cook book.
Also:
Can you get the Food Network channel? Check out the cooking show called "How to boil water".
It's a great show for those just learning to cook.
Here's a link to their website where you can see & print out their recipes:
